  1. Damn, I forgot Kelty. I'm not counting non SPFL teams though ;-)
  2. He's just the Rovers job to get now and he'll have completed his Fife employment bingo!
  3. He's fabulous, would love to see him sign permanently. Great to have him, Bene, Fisher and Breen all in about the squad now, allowing Otoo and Hamilton to finally play where they're most effective.
  4. Yeah, looked like Mehmet was fouled when he tried to take the high ball. Amazing that he's now saved 3 in a row! What a result, and ICT only getting a point. We're getting there... Also, Dundee United apparently determined to throw the league away. It'd be funny if it didn't help Rovers.
  5. Halftime thought - is this the most ethnically diverse XI we've ever had out? Five non-white players today, in MFW, MWH, Otoo, KRH and Jak. Can't think of us ever having had so many black players on the pitch at the same time.
  6. Managed to get a much better view of it via Pars TV. Last 10-15 minutes of the half I thought we looked ok, Hamilton should have got more power in his shot from the edge, good work from Jak to set that up. A few tasty challenges going in, especially that one on Hamilton, followed by the KRH one, glad he wasn't injured there.
  7. Anyone watching the SPFL stream? It's almost impossible to see what's going on, and the automatic camera keeps losing the ball! 😀
  8. Exactly what I thought, strongest team we've had all year. Fingers crossed.
  9. Given that Morton absolutely murdered us 5-0 at EEP only a few weeks ago I hope JMP is at least giving some consideration to them.
  10. Get it right mate, it's actually CPSBDTUK.
  11. Stadium naming rights. At least they know what they got for it, unlike us. Or, actually, looks like they're kit sponsors too, so may be that.
  12. Could be wrong, but I think they have a "one player per club" rule on that.
  13. It's to their benefit versus getting nothing. It's to their net deficit when compared to other clubs getting significantly more money than them. My argument is that having a many live games, and in this case Friday night games, is to the overall detriment of the league and it serves, overall to entrench and expand the gaps between clubs, leading to a more or less paralysed system where clubs are pretty much trapped at their level. You only have to look at the dominance of Celtic and both Rangers since live TV matches became so much more common to see the effect it has. Realistically no-one who isn't one of them is likely to win the league in the next 20 years at least. And even if the clubs beneath them get the crumbs off the table, it's hardly to their benefit in terms of ever having a chance to close the gap.
  14. Jimmy Saville has nothing to do with this discussion. If you want to start an anti-BBC thread, head to Off Topic.
  15. Yeah, but they're still getting much more income from that than other teams, plus their other income streams as well.
  16. I'm more than happy to pay my licence, I think the BBC is one of the best things in this country and not being commercially funded is an essential part of that. That doesn't mean I agree with everything they do, but I still support it in general.
  17. The league games maybe, but our cup game on Friday 24 November certainly was. I'd also dispute that giving a proportion of the overall deal to teams who don't feature on TV is to their benefit compared to the biggest teams. Yes they get a bit but they still get much less than those at the top, so the gap grows ever larger. Not to mention situations like ours where we lose out on potential gate money from a big match.
  18. But who does that benefit most? The teams at the top, further widening the gaps between haves and have nots.
  19. And what good does attention get us? I'd rather we had fans in the door and money in the bank.
  20. Probably right, but if it's ST holders not coming then it costs the club nothing (some catering, I guess). I still think we would have had an official attendance of around 8000 if the game hadn't been on Friday and on TV, even if some ST holders didn't show.
  21. It's not only be a good thing. Exposure is good, yeah, but I'd rather the Pars were banking the best part of £30k than that a few hundred fans of neither team might happen to watch a match that they don't really have any interest in. And if the must have Friday games then they need to be fairer about which ones get picked. We've played Dundee United 5 times this season, 3 at theirs, 2 at ours. Guess which 3 weren't on TV, were on Saturday at 3pm and thus achieved the maximum number of fans likely to attend? We've played Rovers 6 times 3 home, 3 away. All the Stark's games were Saturday 3pm, only one of ours was (one Friday TV game and one Tuesday night). In contrast Utd have had 2 Friday home games against Arbroath and Partick Thistle, hardly likely to impact their visiting support at all. They've also had 7 Friday night away games, depriving numerous clubs of much needed income. Rovers have had 4 home games on a Friday and 3 away games the home games including Dundee Utd, Airdrie, Ayr and Partick. So we've missed out on Rovers once and United twice for the sake of TV. Rovers have missed United once. And United haven't missed out on any between these 3 clubs.
  22. Agreed, I hate Friday games. And look at the crowd at the last game, 6368. On a Saturday afternoon, and not on TV, you could probably add a couple of thousand to that. Here's the Utd support just before kickoff, really poor. And the gaps in the Norrie were massive. Thanks BBC.
  23. And close one (at least until Morton's game in hand)
