  1. There was a spell between the start of last seasons final quarter and the end of this seasons first quarter where it started to all come together for McCann, that’s what got him a new contract. different situations I know and I’m not saying he’s of the same quality but it wasn’t until shankland and nisbet were his age that put everything together at this level.
  2. Lets just remember, year 1 was our best achievement, a position we had achieved 3 years earlier. We are now entering year 5. Time to stop the Jam tomorrow mindset/message.
  3. We should be able to do that with a half-***ed approach, we need a recruitment process that means we can put a promotion chasing team on the pitch Yeah, and what has he done? Bring in one decent player in the January window?
  4. Mcpake doesn't do negotiations, cook doesn't So are these negotiations being done entirely by a bloke who your lucky to have in the country for 10% of the year, no wonder we can't get deals over the line.
  5. I'd like to get 5th for the extra prize money but its hardly something to get the pulse racing. Our season is petering out, were not playing great but not totally terrible either. Folk claiming its a big game to avoid 9th are being silly, we have less than a 1% chance of ending up there FFS
  6. That is a bloody well thought out post grant! I think it is at the moment a formation designed to get the best out of edwards, and last year it was a good formation for KRH on the other side but KRH doesn't have the same ability to get up and down as edwards and in this division he's probably been pinned back too much for us to get the best out of him, I think he'll need to be a winger mostly at this level. I do like the look of the 4-2-3-1 you've put together, I think you can take a different approach to 3-5-2(which we don't use. you correctly show it the roles we are looking for from wingbacks/ wide CBs) that involves the wingbacks not getting as high and instead of looking to create much through them crossing you instead try and swamp the middle of the pitch and create more centrally. That's how Livi played when they won promotion. Our attempt at that would probably look like Fisher Bene Breen Comrie hamilton todd otoo edwards/new WB kane McCann. Which would maybe be ok, but if you look at who we'd have in reserve it would fall quickly apart. Even if you take away opinions on how good they are and focus on style of play there's no role for chalmers, there's no role for MOH, there's not really a role for KRH and it doesn't really suit wighton either, tho he could do a job as one of the two. You're also playing every currently signed defensive player, that would probably mean you end up signing more for cover using up budget when I think most agree we need to improve mostly in the attacking areas.
  7. I'm genuinely not sure if he is. Meggie is meant to be a massive part of these discussions and the last genuinely good transfer business we did was at best under crawford just as he became part of the club and the previous widows under craw before he did were probably better. ETA. Of those clambering for a 4-4-2, do you just believe this is an inherently better formation? Or have you identified particular strengths of individuals where overall you think it would be a better formation currently, but if we brought in particular personnel then you'd think keeping a 3-5-2/ 3-2-3-1 would be the correct formation going forward?
  8. The club had a video done on the experience. Does this reflect the actual fan experience? Obviously things like a walk around the pitch would be something you’d have to arrange separately. What are the options on food? https://www.instagram.com/reel/Czjnbj_M2w3/?igsh=MWJrYmNub2I3cm14OQ==
  9. We’re quite lucky he has been an ever present, would really struggle if we lost him for a 5-6 week period like many others have had out
  10. Aimlessly throwing money at things isn’t a good idea, especially if you don’t have it. However, maximizing your spend at first team level is by far the biggest factor in any clubs success and I don’t see why we shouldn’t be trying to do that.
  11. It started as a back 3, with McCann quite close to Kane, moved to a back 4 midway thorough the first half and then after HT our midfield shape was all over the place
  12. I really don't understand the grudge a proportion of our fans have against him. He was ****ed around by 2 managers for a year, the later most acknowledge is an utter scumbag who created an environment nobody would be happy to work within. He chose to take a job much closer to home that would get him away from that toxic environment for what has been suggested as a quite good pay. Given the same choice can anyone say they'd take another?
  13. Im not fearful of finishing 9th, I think the main motivation needs to be to try make sure of 5th
  14. Airdrie played well and deserved their win. 2 absolutely awful goals to lose and our subs were absolutely wild, we got worse with every one. you can understand the need to gamble with it being a must win but there needs to be some cohesion. Season vertically over, got to learn our lessons from this one and have a better one next year.
  15. 12 from 12 most likely needed for us, might not be enough but would keep the pressure on right until the end
  16. I'm mainly focussed on us, If airdrie drop points then that's great, but if we have a decent end to season but they do well enough to finish ahead then we can only hold our hands up, say fair play and focus on ensuring next season doesn't result in any long periods of pish poor form that we experienced this year.
  17. Could be monday/thursday for all I know, its entirely on what suits TV, and if they actually care, in which case it will go back to clubs who would mostly go to tue/sat.
  18. It will be some combo of ‘mid-week’/ ‘weekend’ around those dates but it really depends on what the TV companies want, no guarantee of tue/sat
  19. You won’t get a announcement on those until the teams are confirmed
  20. It could be, but for it to go well if needs significant buy in, if it gets it at this price I’d be delighted for the club in the cash it would bring in, but if as I suspect the pricing kills a lot of interest and they only get a few hundred along then it would have killed the little ‘difference’ factor that pubs will offer
  21. Agreed, when it was said Scotland games would be ticketed I thought fair enough got to manage numbers for them and thought it would be a reasonably nominal fee, possibly that could be exchanged for a drink. I don’t see what £15 gets me
  22. Pretty unfair that, I’d hate to be judged by our postcode
  23. That statement is absolutely horrific. There’s so many things that are ridiculous in it. this is probably the worse ”we had the greatest Chairman/Manager collaboration in non-league football” WTF self praise is no praise. There’s space in football to recognise players/managers moving on but there’s absolutely no need for this, feels like the chairman has felt forced to get rid of his mate by fans having the cheek to actually want to win games of football.
  24. Well unless they do bad enough to be sacked they will, nobody would come in for them without at least some sort of success with us.
