  1. Assuming that we stay up this year I have some concerns for next year with our ability to do much business over the summer. Kane, MWH and MFW all go back and then its the likes of Wighton, Breen, Comrie, O'Halloran and Chalmers that become first eleven material again. Add McCann and Mehmet who are already starting. I think we will be looking at a relegation scrap with them playing regularly. Next season with Falkirk coming up and Arbroath going down will instantly make things harder to stay up. Livi coming down and losing Dundee United actually makes the promotion end easier, so there is a nice wee opening at the top end if we spent a bit of money strengthening the first team and could somehow loan out few of the fringe players that are on two year deals. I'm just not sure how easy it will be to manoeuvre players around. Basically we need to invest in the first team or we could be in bother next season.
  2. Was it the back three with KRH playing as a wing back? I'm no master tactician but as a general observation we are always much better playing 4-2-3-1 and having guys like KRH playing further up the pitch. I'm sure our results since the Partick away game would prove that the four at the back has been much more effective. Not sure why McPake keeps trying to go back to a formation that we've not done well with in this league. The wide players are too deep and we are very slow getting forward when we play the back 3 with wing backs.
  3. The maternity hospital situation bothers me much more than the postcode...
  4. Another two years apparently. I believe Livi won't be hard to deal with if they go down. He loves it at Pars. Guy at work speaks to him in the gym in Livingston.
  5. Miles Hayes and Chris Kane need a contract put in front of them for next year. Big improvement on Comrie and Wighton.
  6. Good shout Raymie. Though Welsh-Hayes was very good today. He and Kane have been excellent loan signings. Would like to see both next year.
  7. Problem is that guys like Wighton and Chalmers want too much time on the ball to be effective. That's why they were good in League one when we dominate games. We need 11 men closing down and doing the dirty side of the game in this league.
  8. Sums it up when Otoo has to get past Chalmers to tackle the Partick player that Chalmers is next to. Totally agree BRS.
  9. I think Oakley has been injured recently, which coincides with them losing their last three games. They are quite direct and the big guy seems to be a huge part of what they are all about.
  10. I had missed a few games recently due to a mixture of work and can't be ersed but had an offer of a couple pre-match pints and it was the clicher for going to the game. So glad I did. That's the most I've enjoyed a game at East End all season. A small crowd but everybody had a great night and it nice to see positivity for a change. It's been a hard season watching Pars at home this year.
  11. Otoo could sit deep and play safe passes all day long. He finds himself out of position and loses the ball now and again because he tries to get froward and support attack. We need more of that. More caution to the wind. Otoo is doing a superb job.
  12. MFW should be offered a 10 year contract. Very unlikely to sign him after this season after a performance like that on T.V. He won everything in the air and on the ground. Outstanding.
  13. Thought he played well. Not sure I'm understanding your view Busspasspar. He got forward from a deep sitting position quite regularly and that's what he's asked to do if you listen to McPake in interviews. Yeah, he might leave gaps when bursting forward but he is there to support attack when the chance comes around.
  14. He has to find answers to our attacking problems. We didn't score that many last year either. He's had quite a bit of time to sort it out. Also think too much loyalty was shown to players off the back of winning league 1. I can see why but many of them have not been very good this season and we're stuck with them next year too. Hindsight is a great thing though. I do hope he finds the answers and has a successful long career with us though. His heart is certainly in the right place.
  15. Thanks to both of you for taking time out your night to attend and provide an in depth overview from the night. Well done to the club for facing up to pertinent questions that many fans have been asking over the last couple weeks. Sounds like our owners are happy to pay for our huge shortfalls, which is the biggest concern to me right now. Not sure why they haven't cashed in their loan to take ownership yet though? Happy to cover millions of pounds of loses but still not the owners? I'm not on board with this part I question how much value we will get out of local youth. It costs a fair bit to maintain and the top Fife talent can still be picked up by the bigger clubs around Scotland. Not many top players have been produced by Fife Elite over the years. If we unleash a gem then great but we won't maximise our fees by playing Scottish Championship football or lower. I would rather invest in the first team at the start of the season and gain money from the prize money of finishing higher in the league. More realistic than our chances of churning out sellable assets from the academy every year. I'm really not that bothered about youth players. It's a nice to have but not if it's effecting first team performance. In terms of our biggest problem on the pitch (not scoring goals) they seem to be lost. Too much training, calming down training. Surely a clear indication that we need new strikers next season if we stay up. Still stuck with Deniz, Chalmers, O'Halloran, Wighton, Breen and Comrie next year. All been poor this season. Really bad contract extentions last summer on players that failed in the league previously including O'Halloran who was relegated last year. Negative post I know but just how I feel about this season. Much respect for you to guys providing the feedback from the meeting. I'm just not convinced by our owners or football management team in all honesty.
