Montrose v The Pars

The countdown towards the end of the season continues and with only eight games left, this Saturday the Pars head to Montrose to face and ex-par legend Stewart Petrie’s Montrose. The Gable Endies sit 7th in the table, 5pts behind Edinburgh and Airdrie who occupy the all important 4th play off place. While they are not the highest scoring of teams, they are well organised and have the third best defence in the league and we all remember our 2-0 defeat at Links Park. The only Pars defeat this season, thankfully the Pars have had wins in the two other encounters with an initial 1-0 win and our last meeting at EEP was a 2-0 home win with goals from Breen and Wighton both assisted by McCann. Recent Montrose form over the past 6 matches is evenly split with two defeats, two draws  and two wins. The last two outings have been wins against Clyde and Kelty Hearts. The Pars continue to dominate the form table and well as the league table and while they were held to a 0-0 stuffy game against Edinburgh, There away form has been outstanding they have only drawn once since their last away defeat to Montrose. I don’t think there will be much in this game and Montrose will be keen to take something from this as they push for a play off place. The Pars should have enough strength to see this one out with a 2-1 win. COYP

Montrose are a similar side to Edinburgh, so I expect them to be hard to beat. We have a chance, as they're at home, so unlikely to sit in and play for a point, but still think a draw is the most likely result. 0-0 or 1-1.

Dont think Montrose will sit with everybody behind the ball like Edinburgh did

Montrose seem to be hit or miss in terms of form(like most other teams in the league) so hopefully we can go and get them on a bad day, we will need to perform significantly better than our last game up at Links Park though.

we just need to be ready for their long ball tactics this time

Falkirk play on Friday so could be 6 points behind and that could put extra pressure on the game.

I'm not sure the players will feel any pressure by being 6 points ahead both before and after the game no matter the outcome.

A win here is huge. Arguably our most difficult game given its the place we've had our only loss.

Need everyone to stay focused at the back and for us to start creating more chances. Todorov to start?

Todorov is rubbish when he starts, impact striker
