Livi v The Pars, The Season Opener

Recommended Posts

Well the league season opens on Friday Night with Falkirk v Queens Park but at 3pm On Saturday, the Pars have their opening encounter away to Livingston. It’s only been a short time since both teams last met in the Premier Sports Cup on 20th July where the Pars succumbed to a 1-0 defeat in what was best described as a dour game. There is an overall general feeling of malaise and apathy at East End Park atm where you can see that the Manager isn’t happy, the Captain isn’t happy and the fans aint happy either. And after a yet another disappointing League Cup campaign its difficult to garner the support that the team needs for a season opener. Its not the easiest of starts either, away to Livi, home to Falkirk and away again to Hamilton. With a very small squad McPake is only expected to make one anticipated signing of a Goal Keeper. It remains unclear if he will challenge Mehmets position or be expected to provide cover. Other loan signings are likely but probably won’t occur until after the transfer window has closed. After an unsuccessful change of shape to a back four against Cove Rangers the Manager has few options, and then there are the Injuries - Todd out long term, will Fisher be risked, and Kane yet to feature. Admittedly Livi are probably not in great shape either losing 1-0 to Spartans on their last outing. What we can predict is that its going to be a long hard, very hard season. For those who require additional support the Samaritans are always available. COYP

Livi 1-0 or 2-0

I've already bought my ticket for Saturday but I thought I'd take a peak and see what we have sold since and it looks really poor so far.

I know the tickets aren't cheap but first game of the season you'd normally expect over a thousand pars fans even pushing 1500 we look miles off those numbers

Hopefully we can get a win somehow. Need a big improvement at both ends of the park on the league cup showings

Not planning on heading over as £24 is more than I am willing to pay. Heard Hamilton are charging £26 but not sure if that is true or not though

Don’t think they’ll be charging anything if their players continue to stay away. They are in deep sh1t
