Deutsch Par
Just go,eh? Worst chairman in my lifetime including John Yorkston who was pretty much just a puppet for Masterton. Would anyone notice if Cook wasn't there? Probably not in all honesty, as he has done absolutely nothing in his entire tenure yet still steals a wage from the club. The only thing of note that he has done is screw up Kai McLean's registration, and his apology was one of the most half-assed I have ever seen. He should have been hauled over the coals for it.
El Patrón
Regarding Kai McLean, I heard at the weekend that he turned up to training on the Wednesday morning as normal, after Cooks statement on the Tuesday night and he was none the wiser as nobody had thought to actually tell him. They told everyone else before him, an absolute disgrace. Edited August 13 by El Patrón
Deutsch Par
Wouldn't be surprised if that was true. We are a horrific club at the moment. I also wouldn't be surprised if players are telling their agents "no chance" if we register an interest.

I'm not saying it's untrue, but I think we should be careful about just believing every rumour that gets spread about, especially when it fits with an existing narrative (ie supposed incompetence at board level)
El Patrón
I heard it from more than one person and I wouldn't post it if I didn't believe it. Apparently he had been sent a screenshot/link to the statement from one of his pals asking what was going on just after it came out, but had to go in on Wednesday to actually find out in person. Stanza
There have obviously been several mistakes made in this affair, and I'm sorry for the player. David Cook has taken responsibility and apologised for his mistake - I don't know if it was his error personally, or if he was acting as the CEO and correctly taking responsibility for the error of a subordinate. And I don't know the facts, but is there not some responsibility in all this on Celtic FC and the player's agent, assuming he has one? They should also have known the loan transfer rules, and then been in a position to communicate with the player once the deal fell through. They released him and he signed for us as a free agent.

He was a free agent so Celtic would have hee haw to do with it. His agent? Don't know if he has one. Either way, Cook took it on the chin and owned up to his mistake, but to not actually communicate this to the actual young laddie and have him find out at the same time as everyone else is very poor. Communication seems to be the biggest thing missing throughout the whole club.

True. Id also like to add he wasnt released from Celtic, he made his intentions clear in December that he wanted to leave to seek first team football or atleast a club that had a pathway. He decided this after playing in the Uefa youth league games and being involved with Celtics first team training. Also when signing his short term deal now null and void a contract was agreed verbally wages and terms which was then renagued upon. Thats all I will say for now. And for clarity- Dunfermline knew about his situation in february and Ben summers sounded him out if he was interested in coming- obvs as first team football was his objective- and tbf Celtic listened to what the player wanted and never chased compensation- the player who was out of the country on pre season was actually Kai as he was in France training with Bordeaux. Hope this clears some of the chinese whispers up. And my own 2bit for some of the stuff about his inexperience that was written on forums inc in here… Murray Johnston -Airdrie 19yo, Josh Clarke last year Ayr utd 19yo, so age didnt mean he didnt have what it took to displace Mehmet. 1
scottyboy
Didn't Jock Brown do a similar role at Celtic, whatever his title was? My point being, he was pish as well.

It's obvious from your previous posts, all on this matter, that you are connected in some way to Kai. Thanks for confirming what I had heard and I hope he can find a club that will treat him like a human being.

rosythpar
Shocking way to treat anybody. Has Cook done anything good since he was appointed?
