Secure Par
Don’t get me wrong he’s been a fantastic captain since he joined and great for the team but imo he’s never been the same since his injury. It didn’t help was rushed back and injured again but he has definitely lost a bit of pace at the back. Injured yesterday so why wasn’t Breen put on?? Obviously McPake doesn’t rate him? Eastendtales
Bene is sadly past it at this level. A 2 year deal was nothing short of scandalous
Secure Par
I just think the injury he got then came back to fast and never recovered… age has caught up.
kelty_par
Shame he got rushed back from those injuries. It’s defo set him back and hasn’t looked the same since. Still bigger issues facing the team. Lack of a left sided winger is killing us imo

Yeah I wasn't keen when we signed him. He organized the defence well and was a good leader ultimately proving me wrong. Was always going to be caught out more at a higher level, as you say the injuries have taken toll.
parsforlife
Bene isn't finished yet but he is getting to a point he needs others helping him out just as much at least as he helps them, fisher can do that but if they play at yesterdays level then the dynamic won't work. mcmad
He'll be fine for at least the next couple of seasons in the seaside leagues.
El Patrón
He's his own worst enemy. I don't think he was rushed back, if anything he rushed himself back. His attitude is commendable in wanting to play through the pain barrier telling everyone he is ok, but it looks like it has had a detrimental affect on him long term.

He should have came off against Inverness away a lot sooner.

Aye, he could barely walk never mind run but at some point players have to be protected from themselves.
