Yeah, it'd seem to make as much or as little sense as the investment from the German owners. With no apparent link to the club, why would they want to do this?

I guess there's the line about some of them having links to Scotland, but probably half of the population over there would claim the same, so that may or may not have any relevance.

I want to know what happened to the idea that supporter groups get first refusal on buying the club if ever put up for sale. Although, it would depend how you defined that anyway.

Encouraging that they have been involved in sport previously. The American run Dundee clubs seem to have had a fair bit of investment and still look to be continuing their investment years down the line.

It's paper talk first and foremost.

Anything else is just pure speculation without knowing the identities and more importantly the background of these potential owners.

It's a double edge sword because when anyone is willing to spend excess funds on Improving the squad etc. It leaves us ultra reliant on that extra investment year on year.

And if its a more prudent approach it kinda leaves us in the situation we were in 6 months ago.

I'm still of the mindset that the GMBH approach is almost the correct/organic way....maybe just implemented better with better communications.

The new guy better have a lot of £££ to invest?

Unlike the Germans who just gave up. Plus I hope the investment is in the 1st team as we all know what happened before when the GMBH went the youth way and “respect in sport” or whatever they implemented….

I would disagree. The top division income would help us to be self sustainable. We need investment to get there though.

I don't think there is any club outwith the old firm, aberdeen, hibs and hearts which is anywhere near sulf sustainable.

While GMBH hasn't been successful, I can see the merits in what they were trying to achieve.

It wouldn't take huge amounts of "investment" to get us higher than 9th.

I think we are capable of doing the same as St Johnstone, St Mirren etc. I think they just made good decisions rather than spending huge amounts.

We will certainly need a huge amount more invested than the pittance we have put into the first team recently.

Both these clubs lost something in the region of £1.5m in 2022/23. (according to a quick Google search).

It's the dangerous nature of any investment plan which worries me as losses like that are fine when the owners are prepared to foot the bill, but the minute they say they can't sustain it. The overheads are huge- the crowds are small.

Unless you get European football season after season it's too difficult to break even year after year.

I'd love to be at the top table playing the big guns, but the club has to be somewhat prudent In its means to getting there if we are going to guarantee having a club in 100 years time.
