I saw some active descent against him for the first time at FT yesterday. It wasn't in huge numbers but it does feel like we're reaching boiling point. I think, unless things improve then it will be the Airdrie game at home when things will get proper nasty. Quote
Dave Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 (edited) Just watched on tv a dire Hibs/Hearts bottom of the Premier game. Very interesting Hearts brought on a 17 yr old striker, who scored a very late equaliser. He also scored off the bench last week. Boyce was the experienced striker left on the bench. When might our teenage striker get his chance? Is his 13 mins yesterday the start of a bright spot? Edited October 27 by Dave Added context Quote

We did look a bit better after the subs but only really created one or two half chances other than the goal. We maybe could have got a point but it would have been undeserved on the balance of play. At no point did we ever create enough clear cut chances to win comfortably. Funny how we all see things different No drugs here Salvo Quote

Would've made allot more sense to have him in the middle with Cooper out on the right imo. Quote
parsforlife Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 Yea, Sutherland out wide is a waste of time. I think he needs to play in a front 2. I saw him coming on and thought yea, worth the gamble chucking another striker on, but he never got anywhere near a threatening position due to the role he was asked to play. Generally I think Kane needs to play to get the best out of anyone upfront. McCann did reasonably well yesterday, but its a total gamble with him playing central, He can at times make the most of his physicality but often his timing is so bad its useless. We have a fairly large squad, but its so unbalanced we regularly are forcing square pegs into round holes. Quote
Eastendtales Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 I've barely seen anything that looks like a practised passage of play. 1 Quote
kelty_par Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 I’d be shocked if we win another league game under mcpake. He’s simply no clue what he’s actually doing, football is so boring to watch and only have a go when you’re 2 down. Absolute garbage. Simply can’t go on like this 1 Quote

Set pieces were significantly improved yesterday and we created a reasonable threat from them. We have **** all in open play which is a major problem. 2 Quote
kelty_par Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 The one that really annoyed me yesterday was when KRH played a great ball across goal and Wighton was close yet didn’t even throw himself at it. If that’s Kane then it’s 1-1. Small margins but the team selection yesterday was just baffling Quote
buspasspar Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 On another day we could've won that Yesterday .. very unlucky first goal to lose .. a gift of a second goal to lose Squandered 2 or 3 chances first half .. two cleared of the line second half and a tap in for Wighton that went begging .. he does not look anywhere near match fit to me .. Scotch Pie's were good tho Quote

Aye, the only player capable of playing the lone striker role is Kane, it's just bad squad building. 15 minutes ago, kelty_par said: The one that really annoyed me yesterday was when KRH played a great ball across goal and Wighton was close yet didn’t even throw himself at it. If that goes I'd honestly still have us losing. Apologies if that comes across as pessimistic, but if that goes in we keep Wighton on for longer and that doesn't benefit us. What annoyed me about it was that if KRH had been subbed at half time I don't think he could have had a single complaint, but at the start of the second he'd put in 2/3 crosses, getting past the fullback in the first 6 minutes, and then he gets subbed? It's just had management. Quote

By no means should he be risking injuring himself or going for a crunching tackle. There are loads of occasions where he could have thrown himself in and had a goal. Quote
parsforlife Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 It's kinda been touched on with that chance but WTF was going on with our goal kick set up? We know tobi has good distribution and can find someone, we proved it by creating that chance. Why not every single GK have a player on both touchlines? Force the defence to split and create gaps? 1 Quote
Andycarp Posted October 27 Report Posted October 27 We don't have the money to sack McPake and he is not going to walk out of a job. Quote
