I hear loads of Pars fans on social media and fans forums calling for McPake to go.

The reality is he's unlikely to be going anywhere until such time as the ownership situation is resolved.

But if/when his time comes to an end, who is a realistic replacement?

If he was let go today then Ian Murray.

If this drags on til the New Year - probably Judy Murray

Can you imagine the irony if we appointed Ian Murray and then finished the season above the Rovers.

Kevin Thomson is another one who was showing real promise as a coach before leaving Kelty.  I wonder if he'll get a chance elsewhere any time soon?

If we were to part ways before the takeover had complete, the logical situation in my head is an interim management team? Probably Wetherspoon with another experienced pro.

Possibly him and Chalmers, I think they've both taken charge of youth games at some point.

Thomson proved if you have a big playing budget you can win titles.

He probably needs to do well in another PT role without that advantage to be considered for FT, but I think he's preferred to have his academy and rangers tv gigs.

I'm still kind of hoping that McPake turns things round, and I feel like maybe we're making a bit of a start at that with the tremendous win over Livi, the decent if not spectacular game against Thistle, the very unfortunate (IMO) defeat at Hampden, and what looks a proper dominant performance last night albeit without the goals to show for it.

Getting Kane fit again and keeping him that way will be important of course, but maybe the momentum has begun to shift. Hopefully the Airdrie game will be another good step on that path, what a boost it would be if we could come out of that one with a well-deserved 3 points.

He isn't going anywhere. If the club were under different circumstances he'd be away if he'd had the same performances and results.

However, I've said often enough that the current state of the club can't possibly have had anything but a negative effect on the management and players.

His obvious challenge is to turn these improved performances of late into regular wins before the club is sold if he is to save his job.

But personally I think its too late. I think the best we can hope for is him getting us into a good enough position to prevent us being rooted to the bottom of the league.
