Last week there was growing sense of optimism that the Pars might have taken a result in their home game against The Jags. However, despite not playing badly the Pars continued to cough and splutter in front of goal where as the Jags had that clinical edge to take the three points. This week the Pars are away from home and face Queens Park. The Spiders sit fifth in the table with 19pts, scoring 12 and conceding 11 goals in the process. Recent form suggests they are only marginally ahead of the Pars, so this potentially is a winnable game. However, it all depends on how the Pars play and their attitude towards the game, yet three goals against Livi seem like a long time ago. The gamble is should the Pars look to “park the bus” and seek the draw or should they continue to try and play off the front foot and be more attack minded. If Kane is fit to play that might be enough to carry a decent threat, While I have not seen the Pars being totally turned over this season, I have only seen one game where we have that clinical edge in front of goal. It all depends on if the Pars turn up. I think there is a chance the Pars may edge it if we can score. 1-0 Pars

He's more of a talent than Holmes was last season, didn't get a look in. A player at times looked like he'd never kicked a ball.

I'd be surprised if he got any decent game time while Mcpake is here. I can understand being cautious but he's been deserving a good shot in the team for a year now. Wighton and even Todd came on before him on Saturday when Kane came off.

Looks a natural scorer, its a step up but he should have been in a long time ago. Hardly banging goals in are we...

Queens are not a good side. We should be able to take something from the game?

I thought Todd was very good at right back when Hughes was in charge. Would give us more of an attacking threat than Comrie.

alternative, attacking line up, in a 4-4-2

Tobi

Todd Hamilton Bene Ngwenya

KRH Wotherspoon Otoo Cooper

Kane Sutherland

It is an interesting discussion @Raymie and worth considering. I don't think Todd is at his best with his back to goal and always felt his strength has been running at players and ghosting in to the spaces created by others. Playing at FB, if he can get up the field might give him that opportunity. I dont think he has been at his best since his return from injury and perhaps has lost a little pace, but remains a great player and a goal threat

Thats more like the team we should be playing. Personally I'd have Fogarty in before Hamilton. Or Cooper swapped with Wotherspoon and Mebude on the left.

Only change(s) I'd make to the starting 11 would be Otoo in for Hamilton (and possibly Fogarty in for Young).

I would like to see Sutherland on for a decent run before Wighton in the second half.

Actually I'd completely forgotten about Young.

I don't think anything Todd has done since he came back from injury would merit him being included in the team ahead of one of our most consistent performers.

Young Sutherland is a natural goal scorer and has to start alongside Kane if he’s good to play.

If we play two upfront, it'll be 5 at the back.

Holmes was normally brought on for his increased physicality no? He wasn't awful in the air.
