da_no_1 Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 I hope McPake did cup his ear. Some of our fans are utter ******s. 1 Quote
Raymie Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 (edited) Workmanlike win but vitally important. We got lucky with the goal. Lewis miscontrolled the pass, took a wee shove on the back, but managed to get some purchase on it and floated into the top corner Edited November 16, 2024 by Raymie 1 Quote
kelty_par Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 Think saying we were easily the better team is a stretch. First 10 mins we were good and then airdrie came into it and had chances first half. 2nd half was scrappy but we ground it out. do I have any confidence we can get momentum going into next week? Absolutely not a chance Quote

Absolutely not a chance I agree but am bamboozled because we have a decent team and squad. Quote

I think comes down to management mostly. Don’t think the squad is good enough for challenging 1st/2nd but definitely better than 9th. From 6th down to us only 3 points in it. Hopefully with playing all the teams near us soon we can get away from relegation play off 1 Quote
Piracy Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 Given all that's happening with the club, I'd imagine it's a hugely difficult situation for the team to enjoy their workplace. I'm cutting them some slack. I think we played okay today and we got 3 points and it's a 2nd win on the bounce. There's little to be positive about as it is so I'm choosing to look for the positives when they're there. Have a good night folks. 4 Quote

Tho it was done in a light hearted manner IMO. We might not have been brilliant today but with better finishing we'd have won comfortably and if your moaning after a win something is wrong. 1 Quote
Number Eleven Posted November 16, 2024 Report Posted November 16, 2024 Airdrie are a poor team and we were just a little better today. I thought Lewis McCann took his goal really well. Hopefully back to back wins will build confidence ahead of a tough match next week. 1 Quote
SanguinePar Posted November 17, 2024 Report Posted November 17, 2024 Highlights are now up: Must admit, I'd forgotten all about KRH's chance, should have absolutely buried that one. I noticed pre-match that all his practice shots seemed to go straight at the keeper, and this was much the same. Hopefully he can start putting them away, because he took up a great position there. This doesn't show the Chalmers chance early on unfortunately, I'd have liked to see that again. For the goal, McCann's control was worse than I thought at the time, but his initial run and his recovery to get to the ball and put it away were great. 2 Quote
kelty_par Posted November 17, 2024 Report Posted November 17, 2024 Never showed the 2 airdrie penalty shouts either. They are on airdrie’s highlights, both dives imo Quote

SanguinePar Posted November 17, 2024 Report Posted November 17, 2024 Those highlights do include the Chalmers chance, and I stand by my view that he wasn't absolutely clean through. By the time the ball (a looping header from Ngwenya) is at his feet he has a man in front of him and one closing in from the side. I'd still have preferred him to shoot, but I don't think passing it was a terrible choice tbh. 1 Quote

He could have hit it first time, but it I agree the players were too close for him to get a shot in after hes touched it. Still can't decide if Mccann meant that shot. Certainly shapes up for it. Its gone in and thats what matters in the end. 2 goal in as many games. Been while since hes scored in consecutive games. Shame we don't have the behind the goals replays anymore. Few angles of goals and big talking points etc looks good Quote
