Deutsch Par Posted November 19 Report Posted November 19 Something has clearly happened for him to take this course of action however shows you what a great guy he is when he says that he doesn't want people boycotting the shop. 6 Quote
Secure Par Posted November 19 Author Report Posted November 19 As above and a great guy who has given so much time to the club. A big loss. Quote
Superally Posted November 19 Report Posted November 19 I really didn't want to comment on speculation but glad to hear that Dave has made a statement and despite what happened he continues to show loyalty to the club. I have to say i was desperately saddened to hear of this he was an incredibly decent guy who did his very best for the club and the supporters and will be missed. There was always a good reason not to buy on line but to go into the shop and that was Dave. It will be a privilege to shake his hand when i next meet. As for the club, they have done themselves no favours. 1 Quote
SanguinePar Posted November 19 Report Posted November 19 A proper gent. Well played David, and if anyone at the club has caused this split they should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. 1 Quote
da_no_1 Posted November 19 Report Posted November 19 It's crazy to think that someone at the club thought that this would end up as nothing other than a PR disaster. That's what's making me think there's more to this. Regardless it's a sad day. Wishing David a long and happy retirement and looking forward to him taking his seat before 3pm from now on ⚽️😂❤️ Quote
Piracy Posted November 20 Report Posted November 20 As David Laming said, it's between himself and the club and as they say there are 2 sides to every story. Whatever happens going forward (new owners) the club as an institution has a moral and professional responsibility to treat its employees and volunteers correctly, and I'm sure it will. I wish David Laming well for the future. 6 Quote
rosythpar Posted November 20 Report Posted November 20 David is a great person and always so welcoming. We will still see him at the away games. Quote
Dave Posted November 20 Report Posted November 20 Well done for that statement, David. Always a pleasure to see him get the hand shake and have a wee chat. Best wishes for the future and hope to see you around EEP. Quote
Eastendtales Posted November 20 Report Posted November 20 It's a damn shame that whatever happened did. I don't know who us responsible for this but I quietly hope they're binned when the takeover happens. We should be treating all our volunteers with the upmost respect. They're giving their most important and limited commodity to its benefit, they're time. If we're not respecting that, what the **** is going on? Quote
Al k Posted November 21 Report Posted November 21 What "Spokesman" thought that was a great comment? Deary me https://www.dunfermlinepress.com/sport/24741592.david-laming-leaves-dunfermline-athletic-role-21-years/ Quote
Piracy Posted November 21 Report Posted November 21 It's been a sorry mess and a PR disaster tbh. However it's between the club and David Laming. Whatever the situation people need to be treated with respect and that goes down as well as up. This sort of sh*te shouldn't be happening and something needs to happen at the club soon. It's just stale and an unhappy place at the minute. 2 Quote
rosythpar Posted November 21 Report Posted November 21 A shocking comment by the pars to the papers! 1 Quote
Secure Par Posted November 21 Author Report Posted November 21 If that statement came from the club about David that’s a disgrace… Quote
Raymie Posted November 21 Report Posted November 21 (edited) Another sad episode for this once proud club. I’ve never felt such apathy as I feel now. A clean broom is required and asap. I think other volunteers may come forward now with their thoughts ? Edited November 21 by Raymie 1 Quote
