I don't see why Tidser couldn't be on a rolling contract, albeit there are different types of rolling contracts that operate. I can't see it being a rolling contract similar to the one you enter into once your phone contract expires that then perpetually rolls month on month thereafter until cancelled; more likely it will be an annual contract that, at the end of the term, automatically renews on the same terms for another year until either party serves notice. I could be wrong, but I think that was the type of deal we signed Whittaker on, so maybe they're quite common for players at the end of their careers and who don't know when exactly they will hang up their boots and who want a bit of flexibility around this but don't want the hassle and uncertainty of annually having to renegotiate a new contract. If this is the case, I can't see how Kelty could using this to justify a higher compensation fee as Tidser would be entitled to provide them with notice of termination in accordance with the terms as defined in the contract. You would typically expect this to be between 1 and 3 months from the 'end/roll date'. Tidser (or Kelty) would have to effect the contract's termination for him to join us, so Kelty would really only be entitled to compensation until the earliest date Tidser could exit his contract. Unless he's signed a contract with excessively long notice period e.g. 1 year - which would seem unlikely as it could negatively impact both parties - I can't see their justification. Maybe there's a restrictive covenant clause in there that, upon his termination of the contract, prevents him from taking another job in football for a defined period. Never really heard of this being common in football, but there are definitely industries and job types where such clauses are standard. Would be surprising is Tidser would have accepted a contract with such a clause in it though. Quote

the saline hill puma Posted January 11 Author Report Posted January 11 Another week passed, no further forward. Total farce as usual from our board arguing over a fiver no doubt. Either pay up or move on. Quote

Tbf Kelty are in a stronger position. 💪 they are losing the manager regardless so they might as well hold out for top dollar, Cook n co are obliged to make sure we don't get bumped......the longer we keep up the good results and the longer tidser is on gardening leave the stronger our position becomes. I'm more concerned about the ownership situation if it drags on into February and results drop then we could be In trouble. Quote
Superally Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 Kelty play Stenny tonight on BBC Alba at 5.30. Might be interesting to see if anything is said. We also play Stenny in the cup next week so I hope we have someone watching the game Quote
Lochalsh Par Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 What is the story behind Ian Murray. We seem to have no idea why he was sacked. He was a free agent and was a decent target (IMHO). Was he even considered, if not why not? Perhaps there is a good reason that we are not aware of. What a very simple answer it would have been though. Now we find ourselves in a rather stupid place. I have not heard any rumours on Ian Murray As for rumour, I have a good friend (Liverpool supporter) from Bootle going back to 1980 who I talk to regularly. Late in November we were discussing Liverpool looking good and the Pars not looking good. My usual fall back was that we beat the Scousers 1 nil (Everton) and we gave them Davie Moyes. Pete, who is on the LFC Fan Committee, said there was a rumour that Davie Moyes was returning to Everton. No way said I. News today, DM returns to Everton. Quote
kelty_par Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 Need new owners and manager sorted asap so we can hopefully get some players in the door to help us out. A cup run would be huge for us to help out Quote

If/when they give the job to Mulgrew, you'd think they'd drop the demands a bit so they aren't having to paying for two coaching teams. 3 hours ago, Lochalsh Par said: What is the story behind Ian Murray. I have not heard any rumours on Ian Murray I believe we spoke with Murray, but he's getting paid more (by a fair bit) from the Rovers for not doing anything than we were offering... How much truths in that, I dunno as it didn't come from anyone within the club. Edited January 11 by lambo1885 added in bit at end. Quote

I do find it odd that we would not have spoken to him but he did state live on Radio Scotland 4th Jan that Dunfermline had not approached him. Half the lies are just not true eh. Quote
Lochalsh Par Posted January 11 Report Posted January 11 An honest question, what is so great about Tidser? What will he bring? Will he pull on his shorts and get stuck in as a player manager. I live remote from all of this and am really interested exactly what this man will bring to the club. Quote

He is young, inexperienced and been at Kelty where no real pressure and expectations. He has done a very good job at Kelty, when Dean McKenzie left it looked likely they would drop back down the leagues to the Lowland League. He is something different than the usual merry go round. This will be a massive step up for him. He has my full backing. 1 3 Quote
