Al k Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 Billy Davies as a wildcard? Murrey or Bullpen the only other free options I could think of atm. Quote
Raymie Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 Murray is the most likely option. Quote
da_no_1 Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 (edited) McCall if we can't get Murray. Edited December 23, 2024 by da_no_1 Quote

weemike Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 If not murray, then the Campbells. Failing that Ted lasso if the new owners get their way. :-) Quote

I would say he turned round an awful Ayr team, then lost his two main players. Not sure how supported he was for the replacements? Quote
Eastendtales Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 (edited) No way we'll appoint Campbell. Could be another unknown from abroad? I'd love to see Tam Rongen get it, just because he seems bat **** mental. Edited December 23, 2024 by Eastendtales Quote
Maltapar Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 Hopefully Murray but he will need to be attracted by meeting the new owners and hearing what their ambitions are and what budget they will give him to build a team capable of getting promotion? Quote

SanguinePar Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 Murray would be my choice, of all those mentioned so far. Not too keen on Bullen, but might work. McCall/Campbell please god, no. 2 Quote

Probably for the best that he's gone, but I do feel sad about it because that run to the League 1 title was a lot of fun. It just hasn't worked enough since then though. Fingers crossed for a good appointment now, and maybe a bit of a bounce on Friday night. I agree. He was given a lot of time but as you say it was just not working for whatever reason. I truly wish both of them well and trust they will get new employment soon. 1 Quote
GG Riva Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 Don`t like to see anyone lose their job but there was a sad inevitability about this. Results and performances have not been anywhere near good enough and it`s a lot easier to sack the manager than several players who have not been playing well - besides, a new manager may be able to get the team playing better football. I wonder what proportion of managers end up getting the sack. By sacking the management team today, the Board has probably added a few hundred walk up home fans who were adamant they wouldn`t be back as long as McPake remained as manager. And what about Dave Mackay? A classic case of, "If you flee wi the craws...=.. Quote
Yorkie Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 Should have been gone at the end of last season, the style of football has been dreadful his entire stint. At last we will hopefully see creative football with some pace -not too much to ask for. Quote
buspasspar Posted December 23, 2024 Report Posted December 23, 2024 (edited) Feel sorry for both of them but something was not working .. so time to fix it .. I hope they get some sort of employment soon I wonder if the potential new owners had an influence on the decision Edited December 23, 2024 by buspasspar extra sentence 1 Quote
