Billy Davies as a wildcard? Murrey or Bullpen the only other free options I could think of atm.

Absolutely not Bullen either.

If not murray, then the Campbells. Failing that Ted lasso if the new owners get their way. :-)

Bringing the Campbells in would certainly be interesting if nothing else - although from what I've heard, Dick has never been interviewed for any of the previous vacancies (could be BS though)?

Not saying I'd be keen, just thinking who could come straight in.

I would say he turned round an awful Ayr team, then lost his two main players. Not sure how supported he was for the replacements?

No way we'll appoint Campbell.

Could be another unknown from abroad?

I'd love to see Tam Rongen get it, just because he seems bat **** mental.

Get Joey Barton in - experience of Scottish football, previous managerial experience, good at working the media.  Perfect candidate

Wow. So much for my, "nothing's going to happen until the new owners," theory.

Probably for the best that he's gone, but I do feel sad about it  because that run to the League 1 title was a lot of fun. It just hasn't worked enough since then though.

Fingers crossed for a good appointment now, and maybe a bit of a bounce on Friday night.

I agree. He was given a lot of time but as you say it was just not working for whatever reason. I truly wish both of them well and trust they will get new employment soon.

Don`t like to see anyone lose their job but there was a sad inevitability about this. Results and performances have not been anywhere near good enough and it`s a lot easier to sack the manager than several players who have not been playing well - besides, a new manager may be able to get the team playing better football.

I wonder what proportion of managers end up getting the sack. By sacking the management team today, the Board has probably added a few hundred walk up home fans who were adamant they wouldn`t be back as long as McPake remained as manager.

And what about Dave Mackay? A classic case of, "If you flee wi the craws...=..

Should have been gone at the end of last season, the style of football has been dreadful his entire stint. At last we will hopefully see creative football with some pace -not too much to ask for.

Feel sorry for both of them but something was not working ..  so time to fix it ..

I hope they get some sort of employment soon

I wonder if the potential new owners had an influence on the decision
