Well after a rather dramatic week, the now managerless (atm!) Pars face top of the table Falkirk for a Friday night game. The first half of the season for the Pars has been utterly miserable. The Bairns on the other hand have been the polar opposite and have had a stellar start to the season. Indeed, it’s difficult to critique the progress they have made since promotion to the Championship. While many would have predicted yet another Pars dismal performance and near certain defeat, we are in a situation post McPake of how the players will react. Clearly performances have been well below expectations. Confidence appears to be an Issue, but despite poor management, erratic team selection the players also have a lot to answer for too. Despite two previous defeats the games have been arguably closer than the results suggest. I think the faithful probably feel less pessimistic looking at the remainder of the season, whether that optimism for this Friday is enough I’m not sure. However, I’m looking forward to a performance to start the weekend and that may be more important than the result. COYP

Almost impossible to predict how this game will go. There will be a healthy crowd for sure. Many Pars fans who were planning to stay away in protest at the poor football of recent weeks, will perhaps now attend because the manager has gone. If McLaughlin sets us up to play on the front foot and we can get the first goal, I think we're in with a real chance of bagging the 3 pts.

I really don't know what McLaughlin will go for, he likely beyond a very vague idea maybe didn't have any plan until this morning. My main hope is he gets the payers to relax abit and build confidence in them to go play.

This really isn’t so much about who plays but much more about attitude. Handbrake off and get right in about them from the first whistle.
First tackles are oh so important and will set the tone

Just read on P&B (so not sure how true it is) that Falkirk have sold over 2600 tickets for the match on Friday. Must admit to being quite surprised at this, with the time of year and the game being on the TV.

I think we'll see over the 7000 mark.
