Really? Be amazed if any Falkirk player ran more than Lewis McCann tonight.

While I agree about McCann, Falkirk looked physically sharper and I was surprised at some players getting outpaced in a foot race. Some players lacking in upper body strength too.

Certainly not saying the players are unfit but 5-10% improvement can make a huge difference. And this is something that can be worked on reasonably easily.

Great point last night.

Wouldn't say performance was any better than usual and our use of the ball was poor throughout the game. Narrow midfield never really worked for us with neither Todd or Otoo managing to do much.

Was alsp frustrating how we never seemed to react quickly and were 2nd to every loose ball in the middle of the park.

With Kane and McCann often very deep we struggled to have any meaningful attacks and other the Mbuede chance not long after he came on, I can't think of any other real chance we created from open play.

Hopefully though the point gives players a wee bit of confidence going into next week. We will need a better performance to get anything from the game however imo

Pretty much sums up how I saw it. I’ve just rewatched the game and thought we were better second half in terms f urgency in getting the ball forward, the extra width of Mebude helped. Again though, in both half’s the final ball was poor at best and Hogarth only had one real save to make from Kane.

Defensively, we were solid enough for spells but all of the defending at their goals was atrocious. Neither Bene, Fogarty, of Ngwenya pressed the ball or closed to space when they should’ve done at the first. The second, every single one of the switched off and Fogarty was too busy shouting at the ref instead of getting tighter to Nesbitt. The third was just an absolute shambles from the keeper and McCann with Tobi absolutely nowhere and McCann far too tight to his man allowing him to come off him, whilst ball watching.

Whomever comes in, stopping conceding at set pieces and getting good balls and runners into the final third should be their top priority.

Just looked other tonight and the Hamilton games hes been nowhere for while.

He was on the bench at Edinburgh in the Cup and at Stark's Park, as well as the Hamilton home game. Only game since Edinburgh he's not been on the bench was the game at Greenock.

First game of the season for me, we huffed and puffed and gave our all against a better team. I remember the old football manager cliche of, I'd be worried if my team weren't creating chances . We need to try get some creative player's going forward. The positive that I could take from last night is, I think we could survive this season, if we show the same level of commitment. We only looked like winning that in the final minutes v Falkirk. The point certainly helps us more than them. Overall, I'll definitely be back for the next home game.

Yeah just checked bbc your right, sofascore only had him in the games I mentioned.

Strange, thats normally very reliable. If he comes off the bench can I say he's in from the cold? 😆

So far today rovers 2 up against Livi and everyone else drawing.

Looking at other games wouldnt be minded if Hamilton v Airdrie was a draw

Actually an Airdrie win would be fine as well. Who cares as the Pars are going on a winning streak and we will not worry about other results. COYP.

If my memory serves me well then this is not the first goal scored by Benedictus in this way. I am sure he has scored other great back post headers from a corners (at least one). I recall Allan Evans and Davie Moyes doing similar as CH's. Falkirk had no idea he was there and he got on the end of a very good corner by KRH.

2nd goal v Livingston was a back post header by Bene from a Wotherspoon corner

Falkirk have released this statement following fans behaviour and damage caused at EEP:

Thank you to the near-3000 Bairns who backed the club relentlessly during an action-packed game at East End Park on Friday.

However, those who threw flares or other objects onto the pitch and broke seats have harmed our club. The club is bound by the SPFL’s Unacceptable Conduct Rules which provide for an appropriate response to Disorderly Conduct, the definition of which includes possession and discharge of pyrotechnic devices, throwing of objects, and pitch incursion.

Whatever your views on pyrotechnics, the law is black-and-white that they are currently forbidden.  As a fan-owned club, we will always fight for fair treatment for our fans and a better matchday experience. We will however hold individuals accountable for their actions where evidence of wrongdoing exists. We will review the matchday delegate’s report and work with the relevant authorities to take any and all necessary action.

We have contacted DAFC to pass on the club’s condolences to Alex Edwards’ family along with our regrets that some fans undermined the pre-match tribute. We would ask all Falkirk supporters to show the same respect we would expect for one of our own under similar circumstances.

Please Bairns, do your club proud. You’ve been the 12th man through this extraordinary journey and your backing will be vital for the remainder of the season.
