I don’t have an opinion on his experience or whether it’s a good appointment but I can’t help feeling like it’s a gamble.

His age doesn’t really bother me too much, he doesn’t have much experience in general but none in managing a struggling team, which is the single hardest thing to do in football management and that is why I see it as a gamble.

Ive got some opinions on what he needs to concentrate on; Defending set piece goals, because this is killing us. Playing through the lines and getting our midfield and forward players to break the lines, because at the moment having your main striker as the guy running the channel is utterly pointless and the main reason we don’t create chances is due to this. Finally, playing with a bigger tempo. When we do this, we’re a different team and the team is capable of it. They’ve shown it several times this season.

If he can fix those things, I’ll don’t think he’ll be too far away. From what I’ve heard, he’s a good coach and knows his stuff from a players point of view so that’s good to hear, so I’ll be delighted for him to prove me wrong to have concerns.

We do need to give him a wee bit time though, we’re not going to turn into a brand new team overnight, it’s going to take a good few weeks on the training ground for him to get his ideas across and get them implemented. That’s our part in this, no matter who gets the role and some would do well to remember that too.

I'll admit If Tidser is appointed he wasnt my first choice, but its not a marmite Yogi Hughes appointment where he polarizes the support. If he is in the dug out on Saturday I hope he does well, and will have my full support. Who ever get the job we really need to get behind him and the team, we cant afford not to. Although we had a good result on Saturday essentially we have fallen behind and some teams have played less games. We need a positive manager bounce and while Partick away will be difficult, we really need to get going and build some confidence

If tidser gets the job i wish him all the best and hope he can get us firing! However, got huge doubts about his lack of experience and don’t think it’s what we need right now in a relegation scrap

We've not really had that much luck with experienced managers in the past.

The last guy to get us to the premier, didn't have much experience and took us over in a similar position.

Like Digs, I've heard a lot of good things about his coaching and relationships with players. He also wants to play attacking football, which is a bonus...

Any managerial appointment has it's risks. Hopefully this on works out.

Apart from his strange surname, I don't know much about Michael Tidser. Hopefully the board will interview 2 or 3 candidates first. I'm still hoping Murray, as he knew how to serial-beat us. He also recognised early our goalkeeper was a weak link. He's the man for me.

Tbf, in a lot of those games we beat ourselves with individual mistakes. Which characterised McPake's tenure.

He didn’t really. We played six times, one we drew and won on pens, one they battered is in the Scottish and four times we battered them and came away with nothing. I struggled to see how they did so well because they never impressed me much in those games or any of the Friday night ones I watched.

People were saying there was nothing between us. There was, a load of points and better players and a more street wise manager. Similar to Falkirk this season. Bring him please.

There really wasn’t. We were our own worst enemies that season, and that was with a huge injury list. We dominated 4 of those games and I wonder what people were watching if they think we didn’t.

There is absolutely no comparison to Falkirk this year as they are a decent side and McGlynn is twice the manager Murray is. Ask any Rovers fan what they think of Murray and they’ll tell you all the same things we said about McPake.

We've never battered them at all recently except for the 2 0 game at EEP this season.

We may have created chances in the tight games but battered? Nah.

I’m not sure how else you’d define battered. We created enough chances in all of those games to win by at least a couple of goals. All of them at crucial times as well.

I'll be honest, I know nothing about football or tactics, but even a thicko like me could tell you Raith were a better side than us last year. The point gap was probably something akin to Celtic and St Mirren in their division.

As I said, we had an entire team out injured for most of the season. Coincidentally, the point of us getting players back is roughly about the same time Rovers fans said their team started to falter under him. Not saying they’re connected, but the two are definitely factors in why last season went the way it did. It’s certainly not because Ian Murray is Alex Ferguson.

They started to falter last season when the 85+ min goals dried up....

The majority of rovers fans I know think he's a decent manager, but very never enamoured with his style of play, which is akin to McPake's. The difference being they had players like Stanton and Easton who could pop up with (late) goals out of very little.

I'd say going for Tidser is more exciting move than going for Murray.

Tidser being our new manager is starting to grow on me. Something a bit different than the usual manager out of a job rollercoaster.

He has done a good job with Kelty Hearts on a limited budget. I thought Kelty would have fell back down the leagues when McKenzie left for the Rovers. There is no doubt this is going to be a totally different job for him compared to Kelty. Part time to full time is going to be totally different for him. It will be a massive gamble from our board bringing him in, if it goes wrong we will find ourselves back in League One. We are starting to cut adrift in 9th from the rest of the pack, he has a massive job to get us back into safety.

All we can do is back him and hope we stay up.
