I meant to post up the questions I had sent in the email to the club. I obviously didn't get a reply but instead Drew Main said I'd get answers on the night, that way more people get to hear the replies. On hindsight I should have not sent the questions, but they just have might have had an influence of hastening the supporters meeting last Thursday. Anyway, here are those questions, which I kinda got round to asking toward the meeting end.

    • Exactly how has the club managed to make a trading loss of £1m + last season?
    • It is now known that the club is only funding the current development at Rosyth because of £700k grant funding and an additional loan from Fussball for £300k, I’m assuming that is because the existing cash reserves of DAFC cannot adequately cover this?
    • Why Fussball are not converting their loans to shares to demonstrate they are fully committed to DAFC?
    • It is now known that another hefty loss will be made this season (three large losses in consecutive seasons). How can the supporters have faith in the club’s current business model, with the cash reserves being depleted year after year?
    • It’d be good for the supporters to understand, what is Fussball’s detailed and coherent business plan for the future?

I replied to your email on Friday. Did you not receive it?

  4. I`m glad those who emailed David Cook got a response. I, too, have responded to those who contacted me directly.

I was very disappointed to learn today that our Commercial Manager was verbally abused last night over this while going about his business in the supermarket. Having been down a similar road before, I had hoped we`d seen the last of this kind of behaviour. How naive of me.

  5. Pleased that Dundee United appears to have reacted to our discontent and is now using the stand behind the goal (Shed End) for Pars fans, meaning ticket prices will be £25/£15/£5.

I understand those who had already purchased more expensive tickets have been reimbursed and issued with new tickets.

This also happened to me for the tickets I bought for the friendlies and it was all good, having received the confirmation right away. The ticket page is absolute bobbins.

They also don;t seem to be up to date (unless they do it this week) with the 'Reserved' stickers on seats as my mate bought two next to me in May, and they are yet to appear. They may be doing them all at once but if not, then there will be guaranteed arguments.

PST volunteers are going in tomorrow evening to update the Reserved stickers. I'm sure they'd welcome more volunteers if anyone can spare a couple of hours?

  7. Off the 10 Championship clubs, 8 are charging £20-£22 for away fans according to their websites (although Ayr (£20) and ICT (£20) have yet to be updated with 2023/24 prices).

Raith are charging us and Dundee Utd £24 with everyone else paying £22.

As we all know, Dundee Utd are charging £27.

  8. Yesterday, I spoke to the Dundee Utd SLO and the ticket office at Tannadice. This is my understanding of the ticket price structure.

They have 3 selling periods for season tickets - renewal, discount, and full. They're now at the full pricing stage. Prices have stayed the same as last season, meaning the most expensive season ticket for a top tier seat is £500. As you might expect, season ticket holders would normally pay less per game than PATG, meaning a walk-up ticket price of £27 was arrived at. Of course, last seasons price was divided by 19 games, so it's not quite the value for money you'd expect when there are only 18 home games in the Championship!!

I did, of course, point out how ridiculous the ticket pricing is when compared with other Championship clubs, and that away fans couldn't care less about how they've arrived at their pricing. £27 for a Scottish football 2nd tier match is quite simply outrageous. I've asked for this view to be relayed to the DUFC board, which I'm assured they have been.
