I grew up fairly close to The Glen, was always fun during the summer seeing peacocks on people's roofs and wherever.

I'll give it a miss, utterly depressing subject matter. If it ever came to this we'd be obliterated in Central Scotland thankfully.

There's a very rare rebroadcast tonight for this amazing 1984 BBC drama imagining the effects of nuclear war, preceded by a short interview with director and producer, Mick Jackson. It'll also be on iPlayer once it's been shown. If you've never seen it (it's only ever been broadcast again a handful of times), and can handle some truly disturbing moments, it's an absolutely brilliant depiction of the buildup to, moment of and aftermath from a nuclear war, as seen through the lives of some ordinary people in Sheffield. It's probably the most chilling thing I've ever seen. Highly recommended. Article about it here (although spoiler warning if you read the comments below the article).
