  1. That day is etched in my brain forever.  I was at work, run by a tyrant who had us lock away mobile phones on arrival so only the business landline was available & that wasn’t permitted for personal calls in or out no matter the circumstance. Sat at my desk, landline rings, I answer to hear a good friend say “court ruling for us, Pars survive” and hung up!  I moved jobs not long after to a great place and that original business went bust. Like others, I’ll never forget that day! If the doors had closed that would’ve been me, I couldn’t have paid to watch another team. COYP 🇾🇪

I didn't see that on the day, looks good though.

Re fire compliance, I'm actually a bit surprised that it's allowed as it is, what with the tables and chairs there, right next to a fire exit. If anything, enclosing it a bit might make it better for that, since nobody would be able to trip over a chair if there was a wall in the way!

Re heating, I guess if it was enclosed and had a roof then body heat from the people using it might be enough to warm it up a bit? Although you don't want to make it so potential participants can't see what's on offer.

Anyway, good stuff Pars, like it.

EDIT - one other wee thing is that it's right in front of the IWTB bricks. I don't have one myself, but I suspect some people might visit them pre-match, perhaps in memory of a lost relative or whatever. Hopefully it won't cause any issues though.

I love the idea of this however I do hope I can still get fairly easy access my late dad’s brick every home game, I like to give it a wee pat and let dad know what/who we’re up against! Looks like there’s a tv in front of it going by the photo but will see for myself at the next game (on holiday for the first home game this season).

All 59 slots taken for the Everton v DAFC painting by Paul Town.

    Random numbers issued to participants.

The bonus ball number on Saturday determines the winner of the painting.

Just a wee thank you to all who participated in this , and thus are supporting the Dunfermline Athletic Youth Academy.  Much appreciated.

Good luck to everyone on Saturday evening.

I bought a ticket for this on the 14th May, money came off my card on the 15th but I’ve received no email allocating me a bonus ball number. I’ve checked my spam folder but nothing there either.

  4. If I had parked right outside EEP and needed away fast from the game then I would’ve left 10 minutes before the final whistle. It’s hard not to assume they were just being bloody minded folk who knew the road wasn’t shut officially so us plebs were just to move out of their way and give them a clear run to wherever they were going. Bad and bad enough but a hundred times worse when it’s your own fans roaring and threatening you!

  5. Like GG Riva I also had the great misfortune to encounter this car. I was crossing at the traffic island just down from Aldi and felt something against my leg - it was the car bumper! I held my hand up and shouted “stop a minute”, the woman driver just blasted her horn and laughed at me, her male passenger roared out the window right in my face “shut your pus!”. I’m sure there were older children in the back, all of them kitted out in Pars tops. An older gentleman told me he’d had an altercation further up the road with them, he seemed a bit shaken up by it, he kept saying imagine our own fans doing that! I was fizzing angry, if I’d had a child with me that bumper would’ve been against their head. I know part of the registration of the car and I’d definitely know him again if I saw him.

If you’re on here mate - your card is marked, I called you an idiot to your face and that’s exactly what you are.

The Rovers fans signing super John McGlynn yesterday in Glasgow when he came out to watch the team warming up

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, more than just a few of them too by the sounds of it! There’s an element along there that will forgive McGlynn anything.

  7. I can honestly say, if DG signed for the Pars I wouldn’t be back until he and those who signed him were away. There are plenty on the Rovers Facebook giving it the “innocent in a criminal court” nonsense, they should educate themselves and read the civil court judgement - both he and David Robertson are truly disgusting individuals. I think the Rovers CEO is a woman too, what a disgrace. Val McDermid was very vocal on this subject not so long ago, I wonder how she’ll feel having her name emblazoned on his shirt.  You’d think they’ll lose sponsorship through this?

Ben Williamson has a choice to come on loan to us or the rovers.

We almost signed him in the summer.

Does this mean that he’s a Peter Grant rated player? No’ sure that’s the best recommendation :)

Rovers fans I know seem to think he’s Pratt Street bound...

Yogi Hughes is the name being banded about.

Interestingly I was told yesterday that Stuart Kettlewell was front runner at the moment. I took it with a heavy pinch of salt, he couldn’t seem to make it work at Ross County with Roy’s millions so I’m not sure how he’d get on with us. We’ll find out soon enough I suppose....!

I can't think of any reason why he should even be in contention for the job. Previous experience? 7 games at Livi, was it? 🤣😂🤣

I can’t think of any reason either GG...however the Peter Grant appointment was similarly baffling ☹️

  11. These photos are great! I’ve spent ages zooming in and looking for family members long since past in the crowd. My dad always called the main stand the grandstand, he was born in 1935 so I suppose it did seem a very “grand stand” after what he was used to as a youngster.

I’d take John Robertson in a heartbeat but last I heard he wasn’t interested in managing again. Was he touting himself about on the wireless today?

He said something along the lines of “very happy with his job at ICT, wouldn’t rule out a return to the coal face but he’d need to be asked by a club first”.  The meaning I took from it was he’s possibly ready for a return to the hot seat but no club has approached him.

    Speculation either way.

But certainly changes will be made as the new owners implement their plans. All about how things are handled I suppose, and it's worth thinking about how challenging it is to run a club from distance.

For me I've no issue with this subject matter regarding change of personnel: hoping it's Grant next.

I agree with this, I think this is probably the first of many changes we are going to see as the new owners move Into place.  Any takeover in any company means changes, some we’ll approve of and no doubt some we won’t. A new broom and all that....

ETA: it’s poor pr if the contributors to the match programme weren’t told that the long standing editor was no longer in post (as certainly seems to be the case here).
