Heard the same. It’s a dreadful statement that will only serve to further alienate most fans.

Petrie had done a fantastic job at Montrose, so would at least have a track record of success - with players of not a dissimilar standard to the majority of ours.
If you're looking for someone proven in full-time football, they're either out or budget or you'll have to be prepared for some history of performing poorly e.g. Yogi, Robertson, Butcher.
I think Petrie is the standout candidate from the bottom 3 leagues in Scotland. Pars connection is just a bonus.

Yet another must win game for PG.

With all due respect, are you trolling? Pybus was utterly woeful. He literally looked like he’d rather be anywhere else in the world than on the pitch last night. He ghosted about the pitch offering less than nothing.Pybus had a decent game and certainly balanced the midfield a bit. DT did nothing when he came in and coupled with Dorrans limping heavily we were totally overrun in the middle of the park for the last 10 minutes or so.
On the subject of Pybus he has played well the last 3 games or so and certainly doesn’t hide away. Not sure why he is always the first to be targeted.

Wrong. Again.

I was there bud, as were another 3 guys off this forum, we'd been watching the game in the East Port. Went down to Somewhere Else after the game. I was outside with a guy from our group and a minibus taxi stopped outside. Thomas Meggle, his 2 sons (in their 20s probably), and the 3 Braisby chaps also got out. All in club blazers after being at Ibrox. I spoke to them both outside and inside the pub. Meggle was dead friendly and respectful with Pars fans. The atmosphere in the pub was already jumping. When the Stone Roses came on a whole load of punters were singing along. The young Meggle lads joined in, as young bucks do with a drink in them. They were enjoying the occasion, which is a normal situation. Also keep in mind they're not on our BoD's, they were just there. No representatives from our BoD's were on the tables or on the chairs joining in. Although others were, including myself, I like a singsong.
That is what happened and although it's really an irrelevance it's important that clarification is given when required.
My issue with this is why are all 6 of them entitled to the club blazers, ties and freeloading at Ibrox etc.

Couldn’t really blame Thomas. He has been messed about big time by Grant.

Seems to be a lot of comments on various threads concerning ‘some people at the Club’, ‘some of the Board’, Club as a plaything’, ‘hangers on’ etc. Not great to hear these things and a bit of a worry.

Interesting interview with him post game. Doesn’t seek to make any excuses and dismisses any concerns about the impact of COVID unlike the manager. Maybe I’m reading too much into it but it doesn’t reflect a harmonious dressing room.
He is probably our most natural captain. Not been great so far this season (who has?) but I thought he was decent last season and certainly no less a player than Euan Murray.

Crowd yesterday was really poor. Given the weather, lack of fans for 18 months and a decent Arbroath support. Less than 3k must be a worry?

7. A complete inability to sign a central midfielder.
8. Making Dom Thomas captain, playing him central midfield, then dropping him and stripping him of the armband.
9. Playing Paul Allan who was doing just fine, then dropping him out the team completely for Dorrans and Cole (or Pybus).
there a few more, who’s next 😂if I didn’t laugh I’d greet at how embarrassing our team has been.
Number 7 is probably the worst of the lot!

It’s the basics that Grant gets wrong that cracks me up;
1. Playing good players out of position such as Thomas in centre mid, Comrie at centre half etc.
2. 2 year deal for Mehmet and sticking with him when his confidence is shot to bits.
3. Playing Ross Graham week after week.
4. Preferring his own players such as Mehmet over OFW. And leaving out Wighton most weeks to play O’Hara and Todorov - for me Wighton is the pick of the three.
5. Ludicrous tactics and set up at Ibrox. Every fan knew that was a wrong.
6. Dorrans as a captain? Don’t get that at all.
I could go on…

In fairness to Meggle it is in his second language. Maybe a bit of lost in translation?
