maybe Grant was the stand out when they looked at the 80+ applicants.

So you would say Grant stands out better than Dick Campbell? Dick applied for it and his managerial record blows Grant's out the water.

  2. The board are  having a meeting at east end this morning, hopefully we will know soon that he has been given his marching orders.

This appointment has absolutely destroyed the club and we will be suffering from this for a while. The signings grant has made will still be here and some are here on 2 year contracts, absolutely shocking.

Some fans might not have wanted Dick Campbell back but he wouldnt have had us in this mess. If we had brought Dick in,you would also have a great assistaint in Pink. The pair of them have worked miracles at Abroath and will now be laughing at us.

We need to bring a proper manager in this time, not someone who is best pals with board members or a manager who gets a good reference from his ex-chairman. Us the fans cant put up with these ridiculous managerial appointments anymore. We need a proper interview process this time but I am afraid the damage has already been done for this season.

hopefully they see past all the smoke blown up their arses on last visit.  Dancing on the tables with vice chairman in Somewhere Else after being gubbed at Ibrox

Yes they will be sucking up to the germans but hopefully they will see what they are really like.

I think Mikeys tweet a few weeks ago about the new owners sniffing out the problem at the club is referring to the problem being the vice chairman and his cronies.

I believe a certain board member claimed that Dick Campbell will never return to Dunfermline while he still remains on the board. I would take him in a heart beat but it doesn’t look likely.

Yes i heard that aswell, vice chairman by any chance?

  5. Hopefully grant will be shown the door tomorrow but he has already caused a lot of damage and our season is doomed.

I think when Grant leaves the germans have to appoint their own manager and not to be influenced by certain people in the background at the club who had to much involvement in the last few appointments.

We are in deep trouble. This is exactly what I alluded to last week and was castigated for daring to hint alL may not be well in the dressing room. It goes  much deeper than just one player.

Yes my mate is pals with one of the players dads and says he is not happy being at the club atm due to Grant.

I'm going to make a prediction and stick my neck out here, Grant will go after this game against Ayr.

I don't think he can get the players to play for him. I think he's lost them altogether. Rumours are rumours and I'm uncomfortable in saying such things, but I can't help believing there's something behind these rumours.

I think he's got to go and soon. Had enough of this pi*h, this club deserves better.

I agree with you piracy,I dont think we will see him back at East End again. Players dont like the tactics and grant doesn't like them questioning him.

Majority of fans weren't keen on him when he got the job but we gave him the chance but he has been shocking so far.

We probably have the second highest budget in the league after killie, so we should be getting a much better product on the pitch than we have. Other teams have achieved a lot more than us recently working on much tighter budgets,we need to start getting a lot better.

opinion or fact? if its the latter, the result doesnt matter as they have already made up their mind they need to change it then.

the vast majority cant though, to these folk it is must win every week and to some its must win and must be brilliant. there needs to be a massive shift in attitude, mentality, patience from these folk but it will never happen and will only get worse as years go on now.

it was tricky to predict what Ayr would do after the other night but now theyve sacked Hopkin its probably impossible, for us with no idea who is actually available what are we going to get? says a lot about where we are right now that a win might get more criticism than a loss cause it will mean Grant would be here another week :laughbounce2:

It seems like the  board have had a word with him, when grant said "he Hope's to be given time to fix things". Seems to me that he has an unhappy dressing room and he has signed some utter dross.

I dont expect us to win every single game but expect better than 2 3-0 home defeats. I fear if we are patient with grant and give him time it will be back to back relegations on his CV.

We need to be patient and give the germans time with their off the field plans but on the field, I am afraid needs addressed ASAP.

its like every mistake is being punished and a feeling like every chance we create isnt going to go in. the Arbroath game, mistake and 1-0 down, Kennedy hits the post, they go up the park and make it 2-0, its like what can go wrong will go wrong even through no fault of our/their own.

go back to @Piracy post, some players have chucked it the only doubt is how many. still dont see anyway back for Grant its just how quickly they will change it not if they will. to get the majority back on side they probably have to appoint Petrie but to most of them even if that happened and we werent winning every week they'd want him gone too pretty quick.

fans might be staying away because of a pandemic? doubts over what they'd get for the season ticket? the appointment of Grant and results wont have helped some but everything isnt his fault.

Petrie wont come anyway, he has a good job at the bank so doubt he will take the risk changing to full time management.

I know a lot of fans who haven't renewed their season tickets this season because they felt it was a poor appointment and also not happy with the way the club is being run.

Mcarthur was going on about how we would lose 40% of our matchday income when we played behind closed doors, but when the stadiums are open- dont apply for more than 2k fans for the partick game, then for the Arbroath game, no Charlie d's,programmes only for sale in the club shop and 50/50 online only. I think the new owners need to try and change the whole matchday experience- the hospitality package is rubbish compared to other clubs and the service in legends is shocking, think it would be simple enough to bring in a queuing system.

  10. I dont think the majority of pars fans wanted Grant in the first place,he was an underwhelming appointment but when he came he won some over with his talk about winning the league.

He has now shown us that he talks a lot of rubbish, saying that we almost scored everytime after rangers scored  at ibrox and how his CV blows everyone else out the water. What has he done as a manager? Nothing

I think the club will act very soon, maybe he will be gone by this time next week. Grant has already came out and said he Hope's he is given time to fix things so it seems the BOD have maybe already had words with him.

Season ticket sales are the lowest they have been in years,a poor away support at starks park and also a very poor crowd vs arbroath shows you the fans are staying away.

  11. I agree with you piracy, the new board are four successful businessmen and that includes meggle, who also has a construction business outside his involvement in football, they will be more ruthless than pars United.

Nick Teller had seven guests at the game with him on Saturday, imagine how embarrassed he will be after that performance.

They wont want people back in Hamburg that they know looking at the club they own failing, they will act soon and I would be surprised if we see Grant back in the dugout at East End for the Inverness game.

I know Meggle has a lot of contacts in football, not just in Germany but worldwide but I dont know how it would work bringing in a manager from the EU with Brexit. Gundermann also has contacts in Portuguese football,so we might see a left field appointment when Grant gets sacked.

  12. When we do get rid of Grant,we are still going to have the rubbish players that he has signed and some of them are on 2 year contracts.

Mehmet has to be the worse goalkeeper at the club since Chris Smith. Dorrans should hang his boots up,he has brought nothing into the team and always looking for the easy pass.

Would a Pars support accept Hughes? It would be a massive call. Personally I would have no difficulty with him but it would be toxic for others. I suppose that's the problem there is no natural consensus on who could be the Manager and at the moment we don't have a vacancy lol.

It wouldnt surprise me that if Grant does leave, that they give the job to Shields as manager till the end of the season and Meggle being more involved.

Cant help but agree with this and I think you have already mentioned the managerial merry go round of usual suspects. I'm also not an advocate of anyone because they have had a previous association with the club. Lots of threads / messages out there but not seeing anything that suggests a replacement for Grant. Mind you I don't have an immediate suggestion either. I have seen a couple of mentions for The Bunnet and McInness but that's it.

I would like us to bring in a proper manager who has experience.

Ross mcarthur seems to like hiring coaches who have no or very little experience as being a manager- Potter,Crawford and Grant.

Out of the 82 applicants at least a few of them has to be better than grant. It went down to a final 2 between Hughes and Grant,so dont be surprised if you see Yogi coming in soon.
