El Patrón
The lower leagues in England are going to pilot this if they all get onboard with it. It will only apply to yellow's dished out for dissent. I think it's a good thing if it stops the mentality of crowding the referee everytime something happens. They will soon simmer down once they realise they are going to be off the pitch for 10 minutes giving the opposing team a temporary advantage. Hopefully it's a success and can then be adopted by the "elite" league across Europe.http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39790484
Keyser Soze
Is one to assume that if the entire team surrounds the ref, as certain bigger clubs are famed for, that the match will be abandoned?
El Patrón
I'm not sure, the only players who will be sent to the bin are the ones who recieve a yellow. More often than not, 7-8 players are in the refs face but only 1 will receive a booking for dissent.
Keyser Soze
Aye that's a fair point. Think it's a good idea in general, so worth a trial at the very least.
Vinnie
Pointless. I think that the level at which they are trialling this is too low.
