  1. I like McPake, he is a decent manager and person too. He has experience of getting promoted out of the Championship ,via the Play Offs with Dundee only 4 year's ago. I think all the fans will be expecting a top 4 finish next season. If he can get the recruitment right and is given the backing to do so, then really we should improve. I think finances, or maybe lack off, will determine our fate. My only criticism this season of the few games I attended, was the cautious approach and lack of entertainment, although everything clicked when we beat Dundee Utd on their last visit. We lucky we got a decent fanbase, which will probably increase if we get decent games at East End. Maybe manager and board have different expectations in the club going forward.

Season ahead looks like it could be a huge opportunity to go for automatic promotion considering the other sides in this league, and our size as a club.  Any objective other than winning the damn thing, and there have to be questions asked about the ambition of those involved.

There is no way we'll be getting automatic promotion, as long as Raith have better players than us . We gonna need a load of signings in, with the same out. Wonder if we could swap Craig Wighton for Sam Stanton?  Seriously though, we need to get a squad assembled close season. That's up to the board. If we not looking like getting a Play Off spot, then maybe James McPake will have taken us as far as he can. I still say if he can get the right players, he'll do a job for us.

  3. I think McPake will still manage us, until he can take us as far as we can go. He'll need to get a Play Off place imo. He definitely will have to get the right players in to get near it though. It would be good to see some attacking football, play to win style of stuff for a change. Raith finished 22 points ahead of us this year, so we got a lot of catching up to do to improve. Oh! We need to offload a good few players to do this.

    1. There’s 50k to play for, that can easily be a players wage or be enough to secure 2/3 that would go elsewhere without the extra cash.

    2. first team places will be rewarded to younger players when they prove themselves the best choice for the team over more experienced players they should absolutely not be given out without doing that.

    2. Bollocks, top managers regularly play strong sides towards end of season even with secured titles etc, virtually never do they play a team full of kids. At best it would be one or two.

We'll probably not get 5th with our strongest team. Alex Ferguson would never fling in 2nd string players for a game that doesn't matter. We know what most of the first team can achieve. Should have done the same last season with the team that finished 20 points clear of Airdrie.

Got to play our strongest side next week, it’s about £50k difference between 5th and 7th, worthwhile chasing

Our strongest side will play for a draw at best. Reward the reserves for their exploits winning the Cup. Yir top managers would do this with nothing to play for.

  6. A season to forget for me. Probably went to about 6 games this time. It's a tough watch. If I was James McPake, I'd play this team next Friday, but I'm not James McPake. Honestly speaking, I couldn't give a Peking Duck if we get 5th place. Get shot of some of the squad, or it's the same again next season.

  7. Will have to hope other clubs clubs come in for players like Wighton, McCaan, Deniz etc, otherwise we'll have to play, or sit on them on the bench for the upcoming season. Raith have got a better squad than us. That's who we'll need to finish above to have a successful season.

  8. We got an 8 point swing in goal difference, it won't happen. Both games will be tight with a goal deciding it. Get the season over, bring out the hoover, then get fresh faces in. We need to improve next season. Hopefully can make a challenge, or at least get a Play Off place at the right end.

Fair play to Airdrie as well, in their last 10 league games they’re W 7, D 2, L 1 (and they won the Challenge Cup in that time too). Outsiders to win the playoffs?

You wouldn't bet against them. Look at the gap from last season. Looking likely Ross County will need beat though. I hope Dingwall FC stay up.

  10. Can't see us losing our last 3 games, probably just make sure Queens Park don't gain any ground on us next week. Top 4 is settled now, they'll probably rotate players to cover themselves for the Play Offs. We did well the last month, as we easily could have went down regarding all the injuries. Like @Grant said, lets be prepared for next season. My own thoughts would be to try and offload a few players and hopefully have a bit more success next time.

  11. I'm gonna congratulate Dundee United as champions just now . Think we might need maximum points in our remaining games. Might as well go for it. Raith guaranteed 2nd now, they'll lose their edge.
