Did you actually watch the game? If you did it would’ve been blatantly obvious to you he was absolutely hopeless. Quoting the BBC who notoriously couldn’t give a **** about Scottish football doesn’t make a case for the opposite of my view.

Yup I was there too at the game.  Watched the full 90 minutes plus added time.  Completely disagree with you.  Certainly not his best game for Scotland, but to write him off as dramatically as you have done is too far.  He had a direct involvement in the goal and set up two other great chances.  Thoughts of many at the game was that on two occasions he wasn’t helped by team mates playing the ball behind him when a more structured pass with pace would have been perfect for him to run on to and get a shot away.  Additionally when he was taken off, many were bemoaning that Dykes should have been taken off instead. Must say when Adams came on I thought he was awful too.   Finally, whether it’s your view or not, fact remains that plenty do read the BBC for updates and information, and many more will see that than your wee angry rant 😉

Unfortunately I think he had to go in that transfer window if we were hoping for life changing money. His performance last night was one of the worst I’ve ever seen in a Scotland top and I believe that’s his bubble well and truly burst. Wouldn’t be surprised if he saw out the rest of his contract at Hibs as a bit part player and leaves on a free.

    From the BBC match report:-

    “What did we learn?

Scotland had scored once in four games without a victory before defeating Moldova and goals remain the Achilles heel for Clarke's side.

However, they have given themselves a fighting chance of finishing runners-up behind a Denmark side who now appear out of sight, five points clear at the top.

Patterson shook off early nerves to give Clarke food for thought at right-back even once Stephen O'Donnell is fully fit, while Nisbet proved himself at this level with his part in the goal.

Dykes at times was anonymous, but with four goals in his last five games for club and country, the Queens Park Rangers striker is the match winner Scotland might need in Austria.”

Would seem to be at odds with your assessment.

Gavin Reilly signs on loan to Morton for the rest of the season. Here was me thinking they needed a striker 😊

    Lol

This is where I worry he has one of his St Mirren seasons and bangs in 25 goals.

then I remember he’s playing for Morton and has had two good seasons in ten.

Not advocating him to stay but think it’s very difficult for the board to sack him three games into a season, nothing in their previous handling of these situations indicates they have that sort of conviction to do that. Also now the season is off and running, really are limited with replacement options I would’ve thought.

We’ve dug ourselves a rather big hole.

We’re meant to be winning the league this season…

    Thanks Berry

I can’t help but look at the crowd for yesterday, the performances and results over the last 4 games, and then look to St Mirren with Stubbs and think we need to make a swift decision.  I agree with you though our existing board have been slow to react where necessary when it comes to poor managerial performances in the past.  Let’s hope for some German efficiency.

    It’s the basics that Grant gets wrong that cracks me up;

    1. Playing good players out of position such as Thomas in centre mid, Comrie at centre half etc.

    2. 2 year deal for Mehmet and sticking with him when his confidence is shot to bits.

    3. Playing Ross Graham week after week.

    4. Preferring his own players such as Mehmet over OFW. And leaving out Wighton most weeks to play O’Hara and Todorov - for me Wighton is the pick of the three.

    5. Ludicrous tactics and set up at Ibrox. Every fan knew that was a wrong.

    6. Dorrans as a captain? Don’t get that at all.

    I could go on…

shall I continue for you and Let you take a breath? 😉

    7. A complete inability to sign a central midfielder.

    8.  Making Dom Thomas captain, playing him central midfield, then dropping him and stripping him of the armband.

    9. Playing Paul Allan who was doing just fine, then dropping him out the team completely for Dorrans and Cole (or Pybus).

    there a few more, who’s next 😂

if I didn’t laugh I’d greet at how embarrassing our team has been.

i reckon he wouldnt have played if Comrie had been available, looked ok in what was played though.

bit early to look at next week but this is the problem with having so many options, it makes it harder to pick the right ones. last night the early signs with Dow in midfield making it a 3 and just generally how they played, do you go the same again? a bit radical but horses for courses idea, do we need a home team and an away team that are almost totally different?

I wonder if Jones was picked purely to manage out Zanatta.  Two of them will have known each other from Hearts so that could make sense.

A good manager will get the balance right between form, opposition, conditions and pick the team accordingly.  I don’t subscribe to the play same 11 if it’s working theory on every occasion.

  7. If there was no power in the stands then that would explain the wifi being down.

i think their system (despite the directors assertions) isn’t built for the capacity of their new lights.   Let’s face it, that’s the only change at the ground over the last few years, and suddenly there’s a terrible power failure at their first evening game.  Doesn’t take a bright spark (sorry!) to work out the root cause…

I think the guy on the screenshot is obviously expressing a personal opinion. He was employed by the club and he will have a unique insight to how it was being run. If he's not going to be specific about details on social media then everything is pure conjecture, that's a fact, and we should deal in facts.

Of course we can all speculate and we all do it. But that's all it is.

Perhaps the person with the opinion should get in touch with the club and convey those concerns. Or come straight out with it, but I suspect there'd be reasons he won't, or maybe can't.

On a personal level I definitely have some concerns about certain aspects of our club but I've e-mailed, turned up at supporters nights to ask questions and spoken to the Chairman direct. I'm wary about claims on social media.

Exactly, I agree.  Just out and say it, in the right channels, or don’t.  But I appreciate stuff ain’t as black and white (pardon the pun) as that sometimes.

    It’s fairly obvious who he’s referring to…

It’s not though to me.  I didn’t think it was the manager - surely not as hes just in the door. It came across much more ingrained and long term than that.
If going to say something on social media that you know is going to garner interest, why not just call it out completely?

I seen Lewis Martin in the car park at Asda Halbeath on Wednesday. He leaped out the car sprightly and was laughing away with, what I assume was, his girlfriend. He looked in very good spirits.

Ach that’s good. Really like Lewis as a player and we’ve still not seen the best of him with these injuries.  Hopefully he’s on the mend and back soon.

Confirmed on Cows that Leon Jones the ex Hearts youngster/ US College grad has signed. A left sided defender. I wonder if that means Lewis Martin hasnt regained fitness.

Glad it’s out there re Leon now.  Didn’t think my pal would take me for a dafty like that.  He looks a big built lad if not the tallest.   I hope Lewis Martin is ok though would hate for this to be as a result of a set back for him.

Not sure why we would go for another centre back we have 4 (5 if you include Comrie) already

I was a bit surprised too.  Unless Peter Grant is doubling down on the 3 at the back and is looking to do a 2 players for every position thing.  If so id expect another striker on board too

  13. Heard from a friend who grew up with him, that Leon Jones has signed for us and will be announced imminently.  22 year old centre back, eligible for the Chinese national team.  Sounds like he sees the Pars as an ideal springboard for professional football and to pursue his international career.  Good luck to him and welcome to the Pars.

Talking of loan signings, few rumours about Kai Kennedy from Rangers coming to the Pars.

Tricky player by all accounts. Done okay with Rovers last season.

Everytime I saw him play at first i thought, what a great wee player, but fans of Inverness and Rovers weren’t that impressed by him.  Still think he’d be a tremendous acquisition providing he doesn’t come in all Billy big baws.
