  1. Dunfermline Athletic are set to secure the signature of Sheffield Wednesday defender Isaac Rice (Sun).

The 20-year-old is highly-rated and captained the Sheffield Wednesday development squad to a successful youth league season. But he is now out-of-contract as the Hillsborough club prepare for life in League One, following their relegation from the English Championship

It's a little ironic IMO that as we go into 2021 we're looking at the club moving back to a situation where the majority shareholders will be people who until recently had no connection with DAFC! Let's hope the events of seven years ago were a one-off!

I think they're a hugely different proposition to Gavin Masteron and his side kick John Yorkston. Although I obviously get what you're saying about about majority shareholders.

I think if Ross McArthur (with help) hadn't been able to secure additional investment and the right blend of experience from 'outsiders', we'd have been screwed again anyway.

There's no way that under the circumstances we'd been operating under in recent years (and with the Covid-19 worldwide pandemic) we'd have survived in any great shape going forward. I honestly think we were actually heading back into trouble without this outside help.

Seen Yorkston a few weeks ago in the town. He mentioned to the person I was with he would like to go back to a game at EEP. Not sure how well that would be received by the supporters tbh

I still have allot of the stuff from over that era. Like the ticket for the PJ malloys gig, the poster in the OP for the share issue. As well as pars alive posters etc. There has been some chat about doing an exhibition of some sort talking about what the club and supporters went through during that period.

The Pars Alive banner went missing. PST last had it. Might be worth chasing them up. It was a quality product paid for by Ross McArthur, designed by fellow fan using one of my photos. Got it made by a fellow fan too. I wish I had hunted it down at the time.

Absolutely agree with the sentiments of your post Piracy.

Except perhaps the Dumbarton day. Again, came down for it from Aberdeen at the time thinking this might be it. The pre match had a... Strange feel to it. Almost like a goodbye. The way the game turned out it began to fully feel that way with fans arguing (those that turned up) as well as a personal moment after full time with a good friend, thinking that was it. The evening was almost too emotional to handle despite not recalling much of it. Mind playing right ****ing depressing music on the jukebox in Montys at some stage.

Worked out in the end though and despite the **** poor form at times, we're fighting away to improve.

I love this club and the friends I've made because of it, and the memories I have because of it. **** them all who tried to take it all away. **** them all who knowingly sold the lies.

Right enough it was a strange atmosphere in the Old Inn. The march to the ground etc, but there was a sense of determination I felt. We were still relying on Masterton at that stage either somehow guiding us out of it or a miracle happening for the club to survive. It was a freezing cold day as well remember. I felt the camaraderie fondly, maybe that was it, or maybe when I eventually did cry its because we had actually saved the club.

  5. For me you try a different night. You've nothing to lose.

Have an individual Facebook page. We'll help promote it enthusiastically on our respective Facebook page and Twitter feed.

We're extremely keen to support any initiative relating to the club especially if it involves fans efforts from the overall Pars community.

Good to see Adam getting involved.

Keep this thread pinned and regular contributions might bring in more people to help drive it all to greater things.

  6. For me I would be willing to give physical effort, i.e carrying out painting or other maintenance related tasks.

I couldn't committ to any form of group meetings coming up with ideas and seeing them through, too much like being at work.

Fans do become complacent though, it's evident now with the way fans are reacting to results. Much more demanding and quicker to criticis than a couple of year ago.

Got to keep these initiatives going though and build on the excellent work being done by the good people.
