  1. Tidy enough on the ball but poor defensively and doesn't offer much going forward.
  2. All games will worry me until I see us strengthen the midfield with a couple of decent central midfielders. Just can't see how we are going to win games with the status quo. I'm sure they know this and are working hard to rectify it, but games are slipping by quickly and I'm getting quite impatient now.
  3. The official line is that due to covid and travel issues, they can't be hands on. Which is understandable Personally I think there might be an element of the team troubles putting them off. If they are in full control at this stage, there might be an expectancy/pressure from fans for them to spend on the first team to help us out of this. This set-up let's them fund projects they initially wanted to do and not take the brunt of fan frustration if we get into a Falkirk situation over the next few years.
  4. The club don't need to find anything. The investors give us money interest free and unsecured. The investors will be paid back in DAFC shares at any time they feel they wish to do so. If not taken after 5 years DAFC can pay off the loan by giving the investors the shares and making them 80% shareholders in the club. The investors will be controlling shareholders at this point. We're are basically getting the money and more that was agreed under the previous agreement but the investors don't take control of the club this way, where as the did in the previous agreement.
  5. Wonder if the wee bit of extra cash is for first team affairs.
  6. The word loan will probably scare a few, but it looks like the investors will end up owners after 5 years regardless. I don't think they want to take over the mess we are currently in and will take up the majority share holding when times are better on and off the pitch.
  7. He's right enough. It's basic stuff that doesn't take a great deal of ability to do. Somebody is taking a ping 18 yards out you throw yourself at it. A long ball in the box the centre back should win the majority. We lost just about every one of them on Saturday. Second ball from a head flick, nobody there. When opponents brake, the midfield jog back instead of sprinting into the box to support the defence. We never seem to have numbers in the box when our opponents attack. I just don't see any desire from the players to do the ugly side of the game. It's been like that all season. How many goals have we lost from a strike from 20 yards out, with a Pars player turning his back on the ball or the opposing player under no pressure.
  8. Kerr McInroy is tearing it up in League for Airdrie this season. Always thought he had potential but never seem to look too interested.
  9. Yogi needs to stop telling us that there might be a new player in for Saturday. He's done this the last two games and it not come through in time. Also naming Maxwell as a target. It just sets the fans up for disappointment when it doesn't happen.
  10. The central defence give me the fear. Donaldson was really bad yesterday and Breen has looked a every bit as bad previously. Losing Connolly and Gaspuitis in the same week has done a lot of damage. We must find a solid CB from somewhere. Getting a bit tired of hearing how good they are at playing out from the back. They need to defend first and foremost. At right back, I think the time has come for Comrie to be dropped and give MacDonald a chance in his natural position. I think Kyle will at least be a bit more aggressive. Not sure Martin is ready to replace Edwards at left back yet. Central midfield.......I really don't know what to do there. It just lacks any aggression, physicality or ability. An area that's been neglected for a long time. Needs a couple new signings to get close to rectifying. I would like to see us with two central midfielders to allow us two up top and getting the ball quicker to the wide players/front players. I'm not saying long ball, but just cutting out the multitude of slow passes that one direct pass would achieve. Thought Morton did that effectively yesterday. I would take McCann out the firing line for a few games now. I still think the lad has something to develop but it's time to make a front two out of Wighton, O'Hara or Todorov. Three players that have scored goals at this level before and have a bit more experience. Lots of change required, but i'm just not sure if Yogi will be willing to do it. He has to try something different if we going to avoid relegation.
  11. They are 75.1% majority share holders. The don't own St Pauli. https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/2395576/dunfermline-athletic-takeover-meet-the-new-owners-at-east-end-park/
  12. I can remember getting annoyed at Crawford not strengthening the midfield many moons ago, but we've now had Grant who neglected it and Yogi has so far brought in a winger and a centre back. I was hoping that it was such a well known deficiency on the team, that we could've had somebody lined up as a priority. A bit like Rovers had two lined up.
  13. Wighton and O'Hara up top and build a team around that. The midfield is dreadful with 2 or 3 in there, so just play more direct. Get with ball wide quicker. No passing out from the back and taking 5 passes to get to the same place. Yogi needs to show that he will change a failing format. Needs to show that his ego won't get in the way of turning things around.
  14. The passing from the back is simply not working. We are a delight to play against. We make 4-5 pointless passes that gets up no further forward, then chip it to the isolated McCann and lose the ball. Not sure how many times we have to do this before Yogi eventually wakes up that it's not working. The players are just so poor. None of the young players are ready to play at this level, I'm actually doubting they ever will be. It's not just them though. Comrie has been shocking all season, despite looking good previously. Wighton and O'Hara look a good partnership at the end of last season but have not had a look in. That needs to change. We need to recruit midfielders and change the shape to accommodate two up front. If not we are going to continue to be toothless. If we are going to turn this around then it's going to take a huge amount of recruitment and Yogi swallowing his pride and changing our style. What a complete shambles.
  15. Very rarely do you see a player announced on match day. It used to happen quite a bit back in the 80's/90's. The last time I can remember a Saturday signing announcement was when Antoine-Courier signed.
  16. Dorrans will come in no doubt, but I think Paul Allan will drop out for him. Allan is best in the holding role but he's competing with Dorrans for that spot. When we played Allan in the more advanced central midfield role against Arbroath, he was instinctively slowing the play down and turning backwards. Pybus should keep is place, but Matty Todd needs replaced. I just don't think he is good enough. I hope there will soon be a new signing to take that spot in the team.
