  1. Positives? We managed the game out, made sure we didn’t lose any late possession or goals. Mehmet, Bene, Alan That’s it. A very low bar. With pretty much a full and experienced squad, that was dire. I’ll renew my season ticket, but unless the quality of players and play improves, I’ll be much more selective about Saturday afternoons. As JM says, a big summer coming up!
  2. Wind spoils a game! Should be a sound reason for any call off. Otherwise, I d be keen for the game to go ahead, keep our run going, and avoid the hassle of postponed hospitality!
  3. It’s developing the younger players, pushing them on. Hoping we can also sign a couple of our own loanees, as we did with KRH and Otoo.
  4. Yup. Same again please Pars
  5. Oops. Must be getting excited! thanks Ross
  6. 8 games left, incl tonight. Bene back gives everyone a lift, not expecting much change from Saturday, so hoping we keep it tight and sneak a goal.
  7. Looking forward to that update. Trying not to jump to any conclusions meantime.
  8. I’d totally agree, that gives a team the best possible opportunity to succeed. Was it Napoleon who said he didn’t want just good generals, but lucky ones? However, the number of times we hit the woodwork v ICT last time, maybe there is an element of fortune also part of the equation.
  9. I think everyone should be looking up. New players bedding in, one or 2 coming back from injury and more to follow. Corner turned, one swallow doesn’t make a summer, but grounds for optimism. Horrendous list of injuries, players out of position, wrong formations, but remember we hit the woodwork 9 times last game v Inverness, so few outside my Partick mate can grudge us what happened on Friday. A draw would be good tomorrow night, but hoping for a win!
  10. Very sad to hear. Condolences to his family. He is indeed a true Pars legend.
  11. Welcome to the Pars, Miles. Now go and make a name for yourself.
  12. Good post Grant. Getting to 4th, with that long injury list and players out of position, meant the football wasn’t great, and we’ve never looked or deserved to be a top 4 this season. With players coming back (slowly), and hopefully the signing of Kane will get us higher up the league. Maybe all things considered, that’s consolidating our promotion from last season.
  13. Just proves how tight this league is. We should know that, we’ve been in it often enough.
  14. Not convinced Ashcroft was the answer. McPake prefers a back 3, and Ash never looked that comfortable there. It’s disappointing we’ve lost out on an experienced defender - again - but let’s see who they’ve got lined up instead. we were 4th pretty recently, drew away from home with the league favourites, and should have some of those injured players back soon. The football’s not been great to watch this season, and with postponed games, re-arranged dates, free days due to our poor cup form, and some holidays with my wife, it all feels a bit stop/start. Maybe we need to keep our nerve, I’m hopeful we won’t be involved in relegation play-offs.
  15. This isn’t the time for blame. With that injury list, it’s unfair to look to blame anyone! 2 weeks ago, with almost the same injury list, we drew away at the league favourites let’s hope lessons about signing inexperienced players, persisting with formations that don’t work for the players available and getting new players in early have been learnt. The directors, CEOand manager have hopefully had harsh, honest words and are all pulling together for the sake of the club. COYP!!
