Superally
Really sad to hear that West Fife has been hit with 400 redundancies at this time of the year.250 at Babcock at the dockyard and 150 at Palmer & Harvey in Pitreavie. Utterly desperate news for affected families with Xmas approaching. I sincerely hope it works out for all concerned
Piracy
The Dockyard job losses should be taken up with volunteers. A lot of people are at the right age to go now.P&H is a sore one and is a different type of situation. People won't have a choice.
Vinnie
I agree that the two situations are slightly different. I think Piracy is right though, there will be guys who can take voluntary redundancy, some of them will likely be ready to retire anyway.Either way, still bad news for the local economy.
