Colt teams

Once again admitted into the Lowland league with Hearts this time joining the two Glasgow teams. Interesting additional entry into the article link below.

"But in a new development, Football Scotland also understands that the SFA and SPFL have promised to conduct a review into the pyramid system.

An announcement is expected later today, with clubs hopeful of reconstruction of the pyramid system as part of the remit of allowing the three clubs to enter the Lowland League next season."

Gret and gret for long enough about there not being a pathway to what was the SFL, now the SPFL.

Yet, make it very difficult for teams to get promoted from the level below instead preferring to chase meagre sums of money from the clubs who have entered their colt teams.

If colt teams want to enter the league setup then they should be entered into the very bottom division and not be able to go any higher than Lowland/Highland League imo.

SFA are more than happy with this outcome.

Clubs have been fighting for decades for workable pyramid and the Lowland League Clubs are doing their best to **** it up for a measly few quid. They should immediately be removed from the pyramid.

I'm surprised at the SFA's stance on this. They very much set up the Lowland league then fought to get the playoff at the bottom of league 2 in place while trying to persuade loads of teams from the juniors to join leaving the SJFA. Now all of a sudden teams can buy places in the league.

In Germany B teams can go as high as the third tier and in my opinion it devalues the league however to be fair to Dortmund II and Freiburg II they at least fought their way up from the bottom of the pyramid.

If the club's first team gets relegated to a league that their II team are in then the II team automatically get relegated a tier also.

Stenhousemuir chairman suggests that Lowland League clubs have been bribed

Interesting comments from Stenny chairman here saying that in exchange for allowing all 3 of the B teams into the Lowland League the SPFL have implied that they will remove the bottom of the SPFL play-off but this was without the knowledge of League 2 clubs who are certain to vote against it.
