We'll agree to differ. It was marginal but I thought they offered nothing going forward in the 2nd half whereas they showed glimpses of attacking threat in the 1st. And (to TAP) I've literally said that I wouldn't have changed the shape - and I would have kept Summers on (unless he was carrying an injury). I've also not disagreed that we were less of an attacking threat in the 2nd half.

If it makes you feel better, I think we are bang in trouble and we'll lose on Saturday.

Looks like a pretty balanced post to me, champ. We were sh1t for most of the first half, but more threatening towards the end of it. We were sh1t for the majority of the 2nd half, but the more likely side to nick it in the last 10 minutes. ICT were worse in the 2nd half. I don't think much of that is contentious.

The flip side is that Inverness looked even less likely to score in the 2nd half than they did in the 1st. Not that I'd have made the change - unless they were enforced, I guess.

Heard that the DVD will be available in the club shop by Friday.

I'm hoping this is tempting fate, but I think Holmes is out of his depth. He maybe has the ability to play at this level but don't think he is physical or streetwise enough.

Caley player gets there first but follows through on Allen. Looked like a case of playing the ball then the man. Our players are instructed not to protest to the ref once a decision has been made, so I wouldn't read much into that.

We were fortunate to be 3-1 ahead, albeit all of our goals were legit. However, for a team that hadn't won in a while and must have been low on confidence, we saw the game out relatively comfortably.

Jakubiak and Kane look like good footballers at this level. There is the one obvious issue if they're going to play as the front 2 (or 2 of a front 3). I guess that's why you have goal machines like Todd and MFW ghosting past unsuspecting defenders.

I think you can be critical of the line-up against Morton - Etoo, MFW and Benjamin (who had been in the door for 24 hours) was madness. However, I think with Bene and Breen out, McPake was quite right in playing 3 centre backs. He was trying to make the team as solid as possible when the likes of Hamiliton, Comrie and even Edwards were being asked to fill in there. He could have gone with 2 centre backs (some combo of Otoo, Hamilton and Fisher when available), seen us take a doing and then he would, rightly, have been questioned as to why he set the team up that way. Hughes had an injury/suspension crisis (can't remember which, can't be bothered checking) at Cappielow in January 2022. He decided to play Donaldson on his debut and Lewis Martin, who hadn't played in nearly a year, as the centre back pairing. It didn't end well. I think it is fair to say that it is the lack of personnel rather than the formation which has cost us.

Fisher is also a massive miss - although he has played more games than I thought, so didn't mention him. Breen has also barely played, but I'd not have him in my first choice XI (other opinions are available) so didn't include him either. No doubt it would have been helpful to have him available though.

It's difficult to consolidate in the Championship without challenging for the top 4. It was perfectly realistic to expect it also. I'd take staying up now however, but that's because we've played almost the entire season without Bene, Todd and KRH. If the 3 of them had been fit for the majority of the time, I think we'd have more points - which would mean we'd by in the play-off mix at the right end.

Jakubiak and Kane look a handful. Excellent yellow card from Kane also.
