  1. Dunno that I've confirmed it, Keyser, but I've crossed all my fingers and toes. 🙂
  2. We need a jokes forum for this pihs. Are you trying to resurrect the "Who's your big team" nonsense? We're Pars fans on here so what's with "the Celtic leaning support?" I'll happily admit that when Celtic play Sevco, I prefer to see Celtic win, because I have a few pals who support them and because The Rangers are a vile club. (I had one pal who supported Rangers but he died before his 50th birthday, poor man) That doesn't make me "Celtic leaning" as I'm happy to see them get beat by any other Scottish team - even Falkirk. I would hope the same applies to any poster you'd describe as "Rangers leaning."
  3. 🤣😂🤣 I'd have him here in a heartbeat if his CV blew all the other applicants out of the water. I feel he'll need slightly more than 7 games to convince the Pars BoD.....
  4. I can't think of any reason why he should even be in contention for the job. Previous experience? 7 games at Livi, was it? 🤣😂🤣
  5. We might be a phoenix club in the Lowland League. ☹
  6. We often describe players and the occasional manager as "legends" but it's definitely not cool to describe a director as a Pars legend but that's exactly what Ross McArthur is.
  7. Maybe you could message me as well, bud? I'm sure my eyes will stand it. It never ceases to amaze me as to how stupid some people can be.
  8. I'd imagine he will opt for a clean break for the sake of his family, but it would be brilliant if he stayed on as a director and let others take any flak in future, allowing him to contribute in a less visible role.
  9. He can can get tae F**k**k and take his bogging shoes with him!
  10. Yea, I know, KP, but in this case we don't know for certain that Robbo has been "head hunted", we've only got the say so of some dude on Twitter, who some think may be a director's son. (His dad must be mortified, if true.) We also definitely don't know that he's the only candidate being interviewed or even if he's being interviewed or even interested in the job. That's a helluva lot of unknowns, unless you take this blabbermouth as 100% reliable.
  11. Maybe it's a done deal, maybe it isn't. The leak, if that's what it is, is singularly unhelpful, especially the use of the term "head hunted". Other candidates may be getting interviewed from tomorrow onwards and a decision arrived at after that. I take it this Graham Hunter guy is an adult? If he's about 12 I'd find it easier to forgive.
  12. You might not be too far out with that. It doesn't take much for the odds of a small bookie to tumble. £20 was probably the max stake. They'd be scared you had inside info.
  13. John Robertson may just be first up for interview and may even be the BoD's preferred candidate. That doesn't preclude other candidates being interviewed in the coming days. I'd be delighted if Robbo was our next manager. I think he'd be a very popular appointment among the fans. He commands a lot of respect within the game, too. I'm certain he wouldn't be bragging about how he blew the other applicants out of the water either.
  14. I totally agree, but sometimes that's easier said than done. PG doesn't have the presence of a Jock Stein or the fear factor of Fergie, so he would have had to earn the respect of his squad. He clearly failed to do that, as evidenced by what happened with Paul Watson. If a manager is lucky enough to assemble or inherit a good, hardworking squad, he will find it easier to succeed. Even if only a few players are swimming against the current, his job will become far more difficult. Of course, it's the manager's job to manage his players and get the best from them. Grant demonstrably failed to do that, so he had to go.
  15. 🤞The BoD get it right this time. Another PG type appointment and the unthinkable could happen. My brother was told Robbo had been sounded out, but I don't know how reliable his source is - besides we don't know if he's ready to return to management and whether he'd want the job.
  16. Peter Grant might not even have been the problem, but he did sign several players who haven't been good enough to hold down a regular starting place. I remember after AJ was sacked and Stevie Crawford took over. He told us at a supporters meeting that he'd never experienced a dressing room in which so many players had a really poor attitude, so perhaps it's no wonder that he struggled in the beginning and AJ struggled towards the end of his time at EEP. If a workman is only as good as his tools, perhaps a manager is only as good as his players?
  17. No big surprise. The BoD gave him a more than fair chance to get even one win on the board. The fact that almost everyone of his signings couldn't get a game speaks volumes. I'd excuse Connolly from any criticism but he only came in after the Watson affair and held the defence together reasonably well. Look at what happened yesterday when he missed the game because of injury.
  18. Yea, it probably has, but the BoD has given him every chance to turn things around and he's failed miserably. Going 2-0 up and still finishing well beaten has to be the coup de grace.
  19. Good post, No. 11. I said on another thread, PG's position is untenable.
  20. The manager's position is now untenable.
  21. Thanks for the help, Piracy. I have sent Benni a PM just now. I also wish to make a public apology in that, after checking with my source, he informed me that I had misread an important detail in his original message. Paul Watson phoned in sick and was instructed to stay away from training because of the Covid situation. I stand by the rest of my post.
  22. I agree but don't know how to do it myself. Can you PM me, Benny and I'll get back to you. Thanks.
  23. Aye, it's no pretty, but it works. I'm not one of those clamouring for the Bunnet's return, but it can't be denied he's doing really well in his present job. Some of our players would benefit from having a more aggressive side to their game - they're too nice and passive. I'd love to be proved wrong, but it's hard to see us winning up there. Still, "it's a f@nny old game, Saint", as Jimmy Greaves used to say.
  24. It's certainly a possibility and it may be something the club will be obliged to do under Police instruction. Nobody wants to dampen the enthusiasm of our young fans, but that can't be allowed to spill over into irresponsible, provocatory behaviour, likely to spark a rammy with opposing fans.
  25. Let's nail that one now. The Board may be sitting on their hands for now, but they are Pars fans, so there's absolutely no way they're happy that we're bottom of the league. I'd be very surprised if Grant hasn't been given an ultimatum - get a win on the board by a certain date or you're out. My hunch is if we're still winless after the Morton game, he's away.
