  1. There was some great play between Wighton and O'Halloran starting at 3.55 into the highlights video. Wighton from the centre of the park played a ball to O'Halloran then went the other side of him on the wing and got it back from O'Halloran. Wighton then played a 1-2 with him and sprinted inside pointing to where he wanted the ball played to inside the box. O'Halloran obliged and Wighton got to the byeline and cut the ball back for McCann for a great chance on goal. Completely opened up the defence with quick sharp interchanges.
  2. Posted this on another forum after last weeks game. Strikers need other players to create chances for them. Too often pot shots are taken from outside the box that are either bouncing off defenders or go sailing over the bar rather than playing into the feet of a striker. Rewatched the game again on Pars TV replay and don`t understand the stick that Wighton was getting after the game. He created 2 great chances from the left wing, putting similar crosses into O`Halloran from the outside of his right boot to the back post. He also did 2 superb back heels, one to Otoo and one in the box to Summers. He was often asking for the ball to be played to feet or running into space and not getting the ball. 3 times O`Halloran could have played Wighton in when he was in space in the box but instead O`Halloran opted to take an extra touch and shoot with the shots being blocked and losing possession. Wighton also tried to play a 1-2 with Otoo and ran in between defenders looking for the return but it was put out wide to Edwards. Far too predictable.
  3. Montrose are streaming the game for £12.50 https://montrosefc.univtec.com/event/6419d476aaa1431358b0d042
  4. Could do with a quick start like this tonight. O'Hara and Wighton both scoring great goals in the first 5 minutes!
  5. While I agree with your analysis Digs I think Wighton is wasted playing the lone striker role. His ball control and passing skills are more suited to playing deeper and having more of a free role which was evident in the Arbroath game where he was much more influential in getting the ball forwards with quick defence splitting passes. Video of Wighton (aged 19) playing the No 10 role effectively for Dundee .
  6. O'Hara and Wighton played well as a front 2 scoring 2 goals each in this game with great play from Wighton in winning the penalty for O'Hara to score. End of that season Wighton and Todorov were joint 2nd top scorers behind Boyce. Wighton scored 9 in 18 games, Todorov (ICT) 9 in 26 games and O'Hara 8 in 24 games.
