Its that time oh the year again, when we aw shed a wee sad tear

Memories of our Family an guid pals we love, many no longer here

But time’s chariot keeps moving on an thats anither year flown past

Missing yer loved ones but glad, that fond memories will alway’s last

                                                

No steak pie’s fae Stephens no cheese an pickles oan sticks in a bowl

Just yer silent memories of a wee sweetheart stout wi a happy soul

Ye sit and wait as the bells draw near, and the candle’s slowly burn

Remember Hogmanay wi yer Mam an Dad an wish they could return

 

The wind rattles tae get in as Winter bites, but yer overcoat is empty

Behind yer private door the well that holds aw the tears empties gently

The coal fire is dying down the flames burning an orange an yellow hue

Ashes smouldering gently tae dust as the auld year turns tae the new
