  1. Daylight robbery, Ayr will be raging with themselves. Ayr could’ve been 3 or 4 up at HT and they deserved it. Bullen got his tactics spot on. Second half, Ayr shot themselves in the foot by playing for time, feigning injury etc and I didn’t think they needed to do that, just stick to what they were doing first half and they would’ve cruised it. Must admit, when Yogi took Donaldson off (who admittedly did have a stinker,) for McCann I was a little apprehensive but fair play, he won the free kick for the first and the assist for the second and we didn’t collapse defensively. Great that it was Toddy and Cole with the goals as well having not been in the team of late. Goes to show what happens when you take some shots.
  2. Inverness 2-0 up now, goal difference tight so every goal could be massive.
  3. Ayr losing already…good start.
  4. I’m not as certain about Morton to be honest, they could be dragged right into this. They definitely have the less appealing fixtures than us and Ayr but odds are they will be ok. It’s this weekend I’m worried about the most, if we can get through today with all results leading to it still being in our hands I’d take it. It’s not inconceivable to suggest we beat Killie and Ayr lose to ICT which would be the perfect day…can really go any way in this league.
  5. It was a must win and the team delivered so fair play to them. What was more impressive for me was how we reacted to going 1-0 down, the way we’ve been playing and the results, probably easy to let doubt creep in and accept it’s going to be one of those nights again but they didn’t. I still think we can be better if I’m being honest and I think we need to do that in order to secure 8th. I actually thought Edwards started very poorly and defensively we were a bit uncertain. Efe too casual on the ball most times and got turned easily by one of the Partick boys which thankfully didn’t amount to much. Tiffony was having a bit too much success down the wing at times. Didnt think Lawless was on top of his game, O’Hara doing a lot of running not amounting to much. We’re still a little pedestrian at times on the ball. Second half if we weren’t against a team in such poor form who were down a few men, it might’ve been a bit tighter. Special mention to Todd though, thought he had a right good game, tasty ball in for the OG and a decent header for his goal, some of his crosses at times were a bit wayward but think he was just getting a bit carried away and lost a bit of composure. Special mention to Thomas as well, you have to play your best players if they’re fit and he should be on team sheet every week. It was just nice to see us win a game of football, a lot still to work on but what a confidence booster this will be and hopefully it spurs us on.
  6. We tend to throw ‘must win’ into most games these days but tomorrow I think it definitely is. If we win, three points away from Ayr and we have to play them at home and things look a little more optimistic, whether that optimism is short lived or not one doesn’t know. Anything other than a win, 8th will just not be achievable, we haven’t been able to put together a run of victories all season so to suddenly expect us to do it now I think is misguided but a victory tomorrow gives us that glimmer of hope that there might still be a way out of this mess.
  7. Other than the Ayr game at EEP, when have we taken a game to a team at home like that half? Usually we play like an away team. We’ve found ourselves in decent positions, O’Hara at the near post, the missed header with the cross, when Thomas should’ve took a dig rather than pass it to Edwards. Like I said though, not working the keeper and making the most of those opportunities. Wilson was given a free run for a shot, hit the target and went in. Shoddy defending. We need to stop this playing out from the back, it’s not working.
  8. Ironically, taking away the first two mins where I thought Morton should’ve scored, best I’ve seen them play in recent times, more offensive and some of the through balls have been great showing Morton defensively are there for the taking. Problem is, we’re not working the keeper, O’Hara is doing well getting in the right positions but he needs to be making more of the attempts he’s getting. Wilson …you just knew it would happen, keeper at fault but Wilson had all the time in the world to take the shot which was more criminal. We can turn this around.
  9. On paper vs QOTS we certainly have the better remaining fixtures, being at home last game of the season could be critical.
  10. We’ve won four games all season, can’t grumble if we go down.
  11. The optimist will say it’s a point closer to QOTS. Now the only team I reckon we can take over before the end of the season.
  12. If this goes the usual Pars way…90th min winner coming…for Accies.
  13. It’s the hope that kills you. Morton now winning.
  14. We’ve won 4 games all season…..
  15. We’ve won two home games all season…..
  16. That’s it now, very much a battle for 9th.
  17. I just can’t see how we get out of this mess.
  18. QOTS with 3. Goal difference could be important as well.
  19. Think if we can get to last game of the season and it being a shootout between us and QoTS for 9th would be fortunate.
  20. Worst possible start now…
