Unfortunately we’ve got enough signed up who aren’t good enough. If we can’t move them on we’ll just be in same position fighting relegation next season I fear
Thing is, the squad we have got us where we are right now, despite being too thin to start with and absolutely decimated with injuries.
That same squad, with a bit more luck in that regard (surely it can't be that bad again!), would have picked us up at least 3 or 4 more points and probably more than that.
I'm not saying we don't need to make changes, and add depth, I've been saying that since this time last year in fact, but I think Allan is starting to show promise, and I wouldn't be looking to move him on yet (last year, I probably would have been).

^ Agree. To push on to the next level we need to try get better and not sure Allan has been that great tbh, just a steady player nothing more
I've never been that impressed with him, but he's shown something recently, with the goal at Arbroath and the cross for Bene's goal yesterday. I'd hang onto him a bit longer and see how he does this year.
I also wouldn't be sad to see Jak stay, although we still need a goalscorer. He's got a lot of creativity in him I think.

Really disappointed in the players’ attitude today. Timewasting at home when drawing is really not what we should be doing
That was how I felt last week, but I had less of a problem with it today, once it got to 90+ minutes.
Last week we still had something to try and achieve, with Airdrie getting hammered. This week it was just about not losing.
I wasn't too happy with how we approached the second half, but once it was almost over I don't mind them just running down the clock and getting this miserable season over with.

We're always "lucky"
Wouldn't say that - in fact I'm usually the one arguing we were unlucky.

Called it...
We're damn lucky ICT didn't put us in serious bother today.

I'd really like to see Kane and Jak as a 2 in a 442. Jak played the central role well against Utd, feel like he's wasted out wide.
100% this.

I can see it being a similar game to last week. We won't take too many risks and...

If you require over 18 year old staff then I’m sure the staff working can text their pals and they could come in to help…..
Seriously? Are those pals interested? Are they competent? Are they trained as bar staff? And are the original staff being paid to help the club with its hospitality recruitment?

So Charlie D’s has been going most of the season and last game so no staff etc…. Well done Mr Cook…he could have made this happen easily getting extra staff in but we all know he doesn’t want this🤷
Easily? I'm not so sure. There's a glut of vacancies just now, has been since the height of Covid.
And no, we don't "all know" Cook doesn't want this. Got any basis for that?

I think it's always been seen as an area for bampots.
Seen that way by the club? Or seen that way by the bampots? ;-)

Does Legends need a rebrand? Freshen it up and start catering to a wider part of the fanbase?
In what way does Legends not cater to any part of the fanbase?
Serious question, I always see people saying they don't like it or don't feel welcome there, and I'm never sure why. It's just a bar, with seats and beer and TV screens.

Now is it purely down to our attacking players, or do you think they way we are set up (And potentially the coaching?) has something to do with why attackers for us look so... Rubbish?
Definitely agree with that - we don't make enough chances, or good enough ones.

Fair enough - I don't use dot.net, so I assume it's pretty bad there? Doesn't feel like there's too much berating on here, thankfully.

The amount of abuse that McCann receives is well over the top.
Does McCann get all that much abuse? I feel like I never really hear anything against him at EEP - the usual groan if he misses a chance (which happens to all players), but nothing like the hectoring people like Mehmet and Chalmers get no matter what they do.

You mean the “Set Fare Arena” as it will be next season? Or as some witty wags have already named it - the Cab Neu.
Either way, enjoy!
Thanks - but I completely forgot about it and have only just remembered! D’oh!

Forgot all about this. Might head along the road, get used to the Pasta Bowl again for next season (or in case we aren't there next season!)

Exactly this. ‘10 year plan’ what a load of ****! We’ve had investment yet the product on the pitch has went back the way ever since. Rovers get investment and turn into title contenders
To be fair, a couple of years ago Arbroath were title contenders. There's no guarantee Rovers will have another season like this one.

I think McPake deserves a chance at this league without the insane injury list we had this season and with the strengthened squad we have compared to the way we started.
This is assuming we keep Edwards, Kane, MFW, MWH of course, which obviously isn't certain, but if we did, and we can keep more people fit than we did for most of 23/24, then I think we'd be in a better place this time next year than we are now.
But, I really think we need to move away from 5 at the back. Go with 4-4-2, and we have this sort of depth:
GK: Mehmet, Little/Whoever
RB: MWH, Comrie, Fisher (I think?)
CBx2: Bene, MFW, Otoo, Fisher, Breen
LB: Edwards, ummm... Otoo maybe? Or Breen?
RM: KRH, MOH
CMx2: Todd, Otoo, Hamilton, Moffat, Chalmers, Allan
LM: Todd, ummm... Allan maybe?
ST: Kane, Jak, Wighton, McCann, Sutherland
Obviously that's over-simplistic (and I've probably forgotten some players), but I do think there's a decent team to be had in there, if we could add a left sided player or two. A team good enough to make the playoffs next time, which should be our minimal goal (although obviously we should be trying for the title).
Scoring goals might still be an issue, but I think we'd have more width, and would be making more and better chances than this year.

Well let's hope not. But nobody expected 4-0 to Thistle either.

We got an 8 point swing in goal difference, it won't happen.
My concern is that QP might put 3 or 4 past Arbroath, while we lose by a couple.

Definitely agree with a 4, not least because it gets KRH back into the position he's been best in for us, RM/RW.
In fact if we must play 5 at the back, I'd go 5-4-1 to allow KRH to be there and still have a FB behind him. It's not like we'd be losing much having only one up front, it felt like that today anyway.

Cowardly stuff from the Pars today. Thistle do us exactly the favour we need, and at the end we're wasting time instead of trying to keep our thin hopes of promotion alive for another week?! FFS. Total lack of ambition, seemingly based on not losing.
And I'm not at all convinced that we're as good as safe. QP away at Arbroath, while we host an ICT team who need to keep fighting to get away from the playoff spot. Just takes another bad day and we're looking at being 3 ahead with a game to play and a trip to Ayr on Friday night needing a point.
So frustrating.
Well played Kane today, and most of the defence, most of the time (although none of them were without a dodgy moment either). Couple of great saves from Deniz. That apart, pretty poor all round, with some notable lowlights.

I think it's harsh to consider Benjamin a failure of a signing, he's barely played, and in one of the instances where he did he scored a vital goal (at Firhill)
Holmes, no argument, I don't think anyone can dispute that it hasn't worked out for him here.
