I see this line is once again being used is a club statement.

I can't seem to find the statement, where is this?

Either way, I (once again) despair of the club - tottering towards relegation, a big match at our local (and title challenging) rivals, and we start talking about true sportsmanship?!

To me (and admittedly I haven't seen the actual wording of this) it's just absolutely tone deaf, and not what the fans need to hear right now. Stick your Corinthian spirit where the sun don't shine (ie Falkirk) and beat these lino-sniffing wee team p***ks!

Said that at the time, he can't collect in the middle as it's too high, but if he comes for it back post he is on the backfoot, at a stretch and is unlikely to hold it.

For me, Edwards, not for the first time, allows himself to be bullied at the back post. As a defender, if you know you can;t make the header, you make sure you do enough to at least put them off physically. That doesn't mean fouling, it means jumping to interfere with their jump, or getting in the way of anything they head back towards goal..

Agreed, although I was actually talking about the second goal, not the first one :-)

The second goal is primarily down to Mehmet, just before the shot a cross came in that was high and in the air for ages, Mehmet had a couple of options

I'll need to watch it again. At the time my impression was that it was too far out for Mehmet to come and that it would have been risky for MWH to try and direct it back to the keeper. A clearance was the right choice I thought, although ideally not a clearance straight to an Airdrie player in the centre of the park.

  4. Don't recall Mehmet doing much wrong other than a couple of poor kicks (and he certainly wasn't the only one from either team, the pitch looks in terrible condition).

Nothing he could do about either goal IMO and he didn't look dodgy anywhere.

  5. Played well enough first half, Welch-Hayes unlucky not to score I thought, bit unlucky to be 1-0 down at halftime. Not too bad in second half until the second goal (some strike that) and then utter p*sh after that.

I've missed a few games this season for various reasons, and it's now 164 days since I witnessed a Pars win. Looking at our next few fixtures you can probably add another 30 days or so to that right now.

The Pars somehow sneaked into the promotion playoffs and then dumped the Rovers out.

I said the same to a mate a few weeks back. In fact I hope we lose all 4 league games against them, finish 30 points behind them and then knock them out of the playoffs :-)

Didn't they do the last game too and he ended up scoring?

    Might have been Burnley.

They've been singing that at Núñez since he arrived at Anfield. Safe to say he's considerably better than Andy Carroll :-)

Giving them a slight benefit of the doubt, I read that bit about the playoffs and just thought it was a budget explanation of expectations?   It was almost meant as a throw away comment (income budget based on 19 games rather than 18 as assumption of finishing in playoffs) and I just thought it should be treated as such.  Any time I’ve budgeted a business that’s what you do, you understand where you think you’re going to be performance wise and budget accordingly.  Then when reviewing the P&L you compare and contrast trading to give the numbers some detail.

Yeah, that was my thought too. The only weird thing there IMO is mentioning it. Seems a reasonable approach to have taken though in planning.

I also don't think they're suggesting it is the main reason behind losing a million pounds. However, the scenario in the planning would likely have made a reasonably big difference, all other things being equal.

The daft thing was saying so - it makes it look like an excuse for the wider losses, and that doesn't wash.

I don't know much about accounts, so I'm not going to leap to any conclusions about the figures, not least because there doesn't seem to be much detail.

My layman's view is that if the training academy work/costs represents most of the million, then it can probably be seen as an investment in the future (as long as it is completed, is effective and doesn't just keep having big negative impacts every year for a long time).

If the training ground does not represent most of the million loss, then that's more concerning I think.

I'm not defending the figures, losing a million is never good. And I've certainly got plenty of issues with various aspects of the way the club has been run in the last few years. But I'm not going to panic and assume the worst either.

In short (too late) we need more detail.

Jakibiak did that a few times and was unlucky not to score himself with a couple of decent stops from the keeper. His first touch from the ball from Edward’s in the second goal was class.

Just watching the highlights there and was impressed by Jakubiak, had two or three really good moments - although I wish he would just finish one of those chances! Looked good though, which is encouraging as I've not been all that convinced by him so far.

McCann did great for the opener and I thought Edwards did well to keep it on target, it looked a kind of awkward one to hit.

Currently f***ying about before the actual draw.

    Ideal draw for people?

    I would be delighted with

    Germany

    Albania

    Scotland

    Switzerland

    Not far off!

It's an ok draw, glad we avoided Italy! 2nd or 3rd place seem possible. It'll be tough  but why not? :-)

  11. No, not the "bargain" sales, the REAL Black Friday...

I just stumbled across this old classic, written, I believe, by the dot.net (when it was good) legend, Slim Hoolie. Enjoy!

THE ODE TO BLACK FRIDAY (aka The Radge's Lament)

'Twas the Friday 'fore Christmas, and all through the toon,

Not a soul had been sober, since mid-afternoon,

The women did vomit with the utmost of care,

In the hope that it wouldn't end up in their hair.

The pubs they were packed and the drink flowing free,

And all night the cry was "Ah'm ootae ma tree!!",

Please make no mistake, 'twas a vision of hell,

But what happened that night, one could not foretell.

For come 2 o'clock when the boozers chucked out,

She went for a taxi - the haggard old trout,

"I can't wait in that" she did say of the queue,

So she chanced her good luck and she pushed her way through.

Alas, as it was - this wasn't her night,

She was grabbed by the hair by some gobby wee sh*te,

Then yanked back and forth - once more did she vomit,

Pus smacked off a car, straight onto the bonnet.

Much chaos ensued and the punches did fly,

But so hardy was she, the old trout didn't cry,

She picked herself up and with furious anger,

She saught out her foe and proceeded to bang her.

So let it be known, it's the same every year,

To drink on Black Friday - it fills me with fear,

It goes without saying - the wise man refuses,

    And instead he stays home...

    to avoid facial bruises.
