One of the things worrying me is the longer term commitment of Fussball Gmbh contingent. If their business model isn't sustainable they just walk. Then who takes over?

Formally they hand the club back to pars united, but it’s clear a few prominent figures(including but not exclusive to McArthur) were/are just worn out, that isn’t a criticism btw they gave a lot of time and money even if not directly to the club and we aren’t entitled to anyone’s good will.  I believe they being pars fans to there core they’d step in if required but I don’t think that’s a long term solution.

What I will say is that I know some were aware of who the pars united directors were and some particularly garmory with the purvis involvement were part of the pre admin regime but largely to the fans as a whole they came out of nowhere, the is the possibility that there’s other fans out there who for whatever reason haven’t been involved so far can step in.

Failing that the only option is to fund a fully professional b.o.d from normal revenue which comes with consequences on ability to fund other activities, particularly first team if as I’d assume without the investment we’d either cancel or massively scale back the academy

Was Meggle and Cook both these for the match?

Can't say for certain on cook but he's been virtually ever present. Meagle was certainly there.  Must say my attention on the directors box wasn't as much as it would be had the action on the pitch not be so entertaining.

Another notable thing would be our former GM attending in the area normally assigned to guests behind the directors box.

Anybody on here sit in the main stand?

    I'm main stand loyal 🤪

Want to say, as much as I have heavily criticised the investment group it about there lack of attendance it would have been really easy to dip out of going yesterday in light of the financial results they did show up for a rare appearance,  wonder if they put themselves out into the community as well?

Some tough games coming up, but don't think we should fear anyone after today's performance.

Agreed,  we've not suddenly turned into a great team, but we have put in enough that we're back to going into every game competitive.

It's not just our performances tho,  neither rovers or dundee united are handling the pressure at the top well and the good work morton and partick have put in to be in strong play-off positions is beginning to fall away.

The division is as always tight as **** and its all about momentum IMO and we're beginning to turn ours into a positive fashion.

My layman's view is that if the training academy work/costs represents most of the million, then it can probably be seen as an investment in the future (as long as it is completed, is effective and doesn't just keep having big negative impacts every year for a long time).

If the training ground does not represent most of the million loss, then that's more concerning I think.

I think that covers things fairly well, If we had a statement along the lines of

' our revenue was in line with what we expected, first team spending was in relative terms similar to our last spell in league 1 however a planned loss of 1m is recorded in the accounts as DAFC fussball has provided a cash injection of the same figure in order to fund academy and training ground costs.'  Then an understanding between fans and board would be quite clear.

But we don't have such a statement,  we have one which looks to be scrambling for reasons for the loss and that leads to a loss of trust.

  6. Something I'd be curious of how the accounts compared to projections?

Did we plan on it being a million pound loss, or did money need to be put in to cover unexpected losses?

The balance sheet looks OK and they're obviously making progress with the training facility. The one issue I have is whether that convertible loan stock can never be called in. And, if not, when will it be converted to equity - indeed, why was it structured like that in the first place.

It can’t be called in, it has a 5 year period on it after which it is written off if it hasn’t been converted to shares.

On the why reason, I’m not quite sure, to me GmbH have kinda lingered on without ever taking on the majority shareholding for some reason,  they were apparently going to take a majority shareholding straight away in 2020, then due to Covid this became 30% due to be increased within 2 years, then due to McArthur leaving they didn’t take that option up and we’ve ended up with this agreement where they have a further 5 years to take it up.

If they're willing to absorb losses in pursuit of their ambitions for the club then fair enough. I'm sure their aspirations are honourable enough, however it's a helluva hit and I'd suggest not sustainable for a club like ours and that is my real problem with this news.

This, I have massive concerns over not only the spending but more the seemingly lax attitude towards it. We've been here before where losses are explained away as expected and the BoD apparently have it under control and it nearly ended us, there's an incredible amount of examples across world football where its collapsed under 'it will be ok' promises.  There's far fewer examples of clubs who just took the hit for a while and that investment proved worthwhile with both club and owners in a better place.

I thought the play off money was put into a pot by the SPFL and distributed among its member clubs. Is that not the case?

I also believe we posted a modest profit in our previous season in League 1, but we obviously had bigger outgoings last season.

Lower league play-offs home clubs keep all revenue,

premiership play off SPFL takes 50% of revenue.

  10. Didn’t see any of the game, it’s not a terrible point , take care of ourselves over the next 2 we won’t be 9th entering the final quarter but the overall results tonight have bumped us back down a bit both in the table and our overall mood

All is not well in Pratt Street, it would seem. I don't subscribe to the Courier but  they have had a whiff of something.

    https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/sport/football/4903322/raith-rovers-ross-millen-will-miss-ayr-united-clash-internal-matter/

I received a text yesterday, that's doing the rounds. It names names and it appears that at least one player is unlikely to play for the Rovers again and that is why they brought in J. Brown from St Johnstone. Bringing in Ashcroft is apparently unrelated.

No subscription needed, it’s a free to view article, just you may need to switch browsers or open a private/incognito tab if you’ve viewed a few articles recently.

clear fall out between Millen and Murray, In order of likelihood,

he goes somewhere on loan in the next few days, he gives a grovelling apology and tries to get back in the squad or rovers hit an injury crisis and Murray is forced to be the one to try make amends.

Hopefully Morton win all their games, apart from against us. We can forget about them now, it's all about beating the drop for us this season. We still in the danger zone.

Aye, I had the top three in that category already and Morton can now join that list-baring a complete collapse and also a ridiculous run from someone the top 4 is decided, let them take as many points as possible of the other 5 teams.

For me they can get this living true sportsmanship in the bin and stop using the club as an experiment. We have gone backwards and could end up with a second relegation since they have arrived. We need a big change at boardroom level if we are going to progress.

Aye, too much arseing around with secondary, territory or completely unimportant things and a minimum focus on by far the most important thing of putting a winning side on the park as much as possible week to week.

what is the morale like about the club just now?, If I were to believe half of what I've heard, then it can't be great. I think it's potentially telling or concerning that influential people like Stephen Taylor and Greg Shields have stood down or left their posts so far this season. Yes I know that reads like I'm stirring it and it's based on maybe hearsay, but it could be an indicator things aren't right.

My viewpoint is, there's a hell of a lot of rumours going around,  its impossible for them to all be true, but there's that many gaining traction there's bound to be something behind a decent amount of them and if only 5 or 10% are true then we are in a bad place.

    Jack Ross.

I'm sure he'd love another punt at management instead of coaching Newcastle youths.

He'll be earning far more without the stresses of first team management doing the youths.

I'm sure he's been quoted somewhere that he's enjoying it much more and has no thoughts of going back to being a manager

I would rather we went for a foreign coach that brings his own ideas in instead of the Dodds and Fotheringham managers.
McPake has not had an easy season but I just hope he keeps us between 5th-8th place and see what happens next season.

I would like. The Rovers to stay down and Falkirk up as these are always decent games/atmosphere.

Don’t see any evidence of our bod being able to look much beyond our doorstep
