  1. Just a heads up that Falkirk's fireworks display is on in Callendar Park with a road closure along Callendar Road; from Benny T's chippy towards the town centre. The traffic is always really busy when it's on; just like the display in The Glen causes anyone parked in Falkirk town centre, near the college etc will get caught up in it...
  2. Just watched the interview with Shields after the game, looks a new man; younger even without the stress of the first team. Clearly back doing something he loves.
  3. Another result ground out. Got to keep the momentum going, no matter how pretty it isn't.
  4. The former players association podcast Walking Down The Halbeath Road has an episode with him; his story since leaving EEP is quite interesting.
  5. Was the North-west not previously the "Scottish Grass Machinery Stand"? I see the re-naming as having been done to the limit. My list would be broadly the same as Fifes Elite, Young Pars and lounges (with exception of Jock Stein suite) I'd maybe be happy with an "in association with" or something like that.
  6. There's a couple of articles on the BBC website explaining the impact of Brexit, changes to work permit rules on Scottish football in particular and supply chain issues with kits (more focused on England): https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62284560 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-62256634 Puts some of our recent and ongoing challenges as a club into perspective, some EPL clubs affected with kits problems!
  7. For anyone else having the same issue a temporary fix is to scroll to the very bottom of the page and change the theme to the default. Found it by luck.
  8. You would have thought the sponsor as a Digital Marketing and Web design agency would turn out something that looks better...
  9. Brilliant summary Piracy, seems they haven't changed much; plenty of "wuckfits" in our support (like every club). Just in case my nightshift addled brain didn't get my thoughts over correctly my suggestion was a record of the presentations only. Recorded, edited checked with those involved and shared a couple of days later. These are often really good and just as often (mis?) quoted weeks or months down the line so ability for those who can't attend to see the thrust, even if edited highlights would be good.
  10. Great to see the engagement with this event. It would be great if even the presentations could be recorded, edited and shared by the club for those of us unable to attend. Obviously taking out anything we don't want to go further/ could be a stick to beat ourselves with/ end up like the famous Falkirk debacle from last year. Question session on the other hand, perhaps sticking to a written record would be best...
  11. I tried to make my original post neutral in the hope of getting some discussion going so only fair I give my thoughts now... I think that a good pre season could be a turning point for Dorrans, he definitely has pedigree and should be able to pull the strings in midfield. Hopefully a few good performances can put a lid on last season for him and others.
  12. Noticed an article on the Courier website with McPake saying Dorrans is rolling back the years in pre-season, looks like he's here for the new season if he wants... Article
  13. Raise you a James Blunt...
  14. Reading the comments from David Cook I think it has been a case of dotting the i's and crossing the t's before making the announcement...
  15. Also the title of an Irish folk song...
  16. In HR terms if the person feels the behaviour is bullying then it is generally accepted that it was as you can't tell someone how they should feel/ are feeling. This can be a one off. To call someone a bully would be looking for a pattern of behaviour. In terms of giving criticism every person responds differently depending on how it's given; critical advice in a 1-2-1 is very different to bawling someone out in front of the squad and all the shades in between...
  17. Thinking about it announcing the "new" board and then allowing them to make the decisions is good because they will want to be able to stand behind those decisions. No opportunity for deflecting to the previous incumbents...
  18. Link to COWS; Club Announcement RM, Kip McBay and Leish retire from the board. CEO/Chair posts merge with David Cook taking on role. "The footballing department and squad plans are currently under review"
  19. With a cunning masterplan to alienate much of the community they want to spend money in the store...instead of buying a plot that's up for sale elsewhere without any of the baggage.
  20. Must be in desperate need of a store in Dunfermline with the Parent Group revenues for 2020-21 only being around 125.3 billion Euro..... Nothing wrong with being cautious/ sceptical but don't see this being a likely scenario what with the club not being the owner of the stadium.
  21. Brilliant effort from Jim, the Mary Leishman Foundation, and the other on the trip! When he gets there he might find someone that hasn't heard his Ibrox goal story too...
  22. As you say finding asbestos and removal is time consuming and costly, unfortunately there are occasions in buildings that have been altered over time that you come across unexpected materials. The biggest thing is the club needs to communicate more; many of the issues and by extension thoughts of worst case scenarios are because of the information vacuum. However if they are going to communicate it has to be done well. We've seen what happens when a message isn't properly articulated in the not to distant past. Hopefully the new CEO is able to get this sorted, although I'm guessing that his 'to-do' list will be huge; not to denigrate the work done by those looking after the club before either!!
  23. I just love how we jump to the worst case scenario... Even if I could stretch to agreeing our board of directors could be found wanting due to building management not being a strength (and ignoring what they said about the state of EEP under the surface when they took it on), it would also mean that Purvis who iirc are doing the works had also thrown away their professionalism... I know of at least three occasions where asbestos has been found in an older building as layers are peeled back for refurbishment; despite a three inch thick asbestos register detailing all known locations, programmed surveys and pre-works surveys.
  24. The end of North Lanarkshire Council's statement explains Broadwood was managed by a separate company previously and the Council had no power to direct the company over things like this however the stadium is now directly managed.
