    My thoughts exactly.

Go on the match thread & their Rovers thread on P&B. Old Firm levels of entitlement. I really hope they get pumped rotten.

Rovers fans on Pie and Bovril used to be a sensible bunch. A little bit of glory and some of them have turned into slavering arseholes. Funny thing football does to people.

As was pointed out by one of the more sensible posters on dotnet, 2 home playoff games may have totalled around 10,000 fans, but we would perhaps not have had 9,000 v Falkirk and 6,000 in the title winning game v QOS.

We could have been pumped out in the first round of the playoffs

  3. "Our budget for the year was based, conservatively, on ending the season in a play-off position and securing promotion by way of those additional matches. Ending the season as league champions meant, of course, that we missed out on those additional revenues.  Of course, we were delighted to forego those."

    :WTF:

I think the priorities are all screwed up.

I like the idea of an academy and training facility in house, but it should only be implemented after we've established ourselves in the top flight.

The income disparagy between tiers 1 and 2 is huge, never mind 3. The fact we're facing League 1 football again with this project choking us of income needed for the first team is unacceptable.

I think it might be worth pointing out the training base and the academy are two seperate things(albeit connected). The germans investment was to build the training facility and once its built we would save costs on renting pitches etc although we would have maintenence and upgrade costs as time goes on.

The academy will use it but will have a large cost going forward. Obviously though we hope it pays for itself in the form of better facilities for attracting better players and producing players we can maybe sell.

I suppose if the germans investment and the additional funding they now have pays for that facility its a bit of a no lose.

The manager is going nowhere. No matter what happens they will blame this season's outcome on injuries. I am 62 and have followed the Pars all my life. I get angry and annoyed at results etc. Look what is happening in the world right now. If worrying about football is your biggest worry then you have it easy.

    Agreed

Albeit we all know that even the most sensible people in the world can turn mental when it comes to football🤣. From all my time following the pars theres always been an air of desperation and nervousness. Either trying to get promoted, stave off relagation, clamour to get to a cup final or europe. We have hardly ever had a season where there wasnt that desperation there for some reason.

There are far more important things in the world....but in saying that it does take up more of my thinking capacity than it should.

Talk of funding brings me back to something that I've said before, having an academy, especially a successful one that entices the best young players in the area is really expensive. Is that financially prudent when we're in the the Scottish Championship? Not for me.

I'm sort of in this camp. I posted on here at the time that I has asked Ross McArthur if we could end up with a bit of a white elephant with the training ground. He said once the asset is bought with the German investment(now over budget and needed addtional funding partners) we would break even with the savings from renting pitches for training etc. That might still be the case once its done from a training ground perspective. But with the rumours of the financial losses this year how much of our budget is now being re-directed to building the training ground? And how much  of our playing budget will be going into the academy operations year on year. We really need to get into the premier league to make things viable. Maybe once its built thats where the push will be.

Its tough competing for youngsters with 2 dundee, 2 edinburgh clubs not too far away. As well as the Glasgow 2, not to mention local ones like rovers

Heads gone from the manager in that.  The Jakubiak comment is bizarre. “Not sure if that’s an injury or not”. What the feck else is it?

Thought that was a strange comment to make..maybe just said something stupid post match while raging.

  8. We are on our arse right now.

10 players going off in the last 4 games if you include Otoo pulling up in the warm up at Ayr and pretty much a whole team out..not including the players who are having to play who are ****ed.

    Fisher   Benedictus    Breen

    Comrie  Todd   Otoo   KRH

    McCann   Jakubiak   Tod

He's a full back and has never played centre back to my knowledge.

He is, but no, he's just lazy apparently...🙄

Tbh I have watched him(not booed or anything) and thought is body language was poor and he wasnt interested in getting stuck in with work rate. But watching him closer the other night its pretty clear he isnt fully fit(probably with a hamstring injury) and might have re-occuring injuries which means he can't run about solidly down channels for 90 mins. It's probably why he prefers to come deeper to get the ball and try and fire it into space or win us a freekick to get us up the park. He has also missed a few chances where I think a sharper Wighton would score. One against ayr where he hit the goalkeeper from only 5 yards out and one against rovers where he couldnt react quick enough to hit a shot after the ball bounces to him.

I'm in two minds to go tonight. The team could do with encouragment more than anthing else with players playing with injuries and virus's etc. Kind of hoping the fans back the team rather than getting on their back if theres a sloppy pass or we are under pressure.

Wighton didnt look his usual self on Tuesday so he might be carrying an injury. I can see a Home win coming up.

The one time I seen him sprint the other day he was holding his hamstring after. I think he might be carrying an injury.

Back to the game, just watched the post match interviews and what I found worrying is that the manager and Hamilton thought we played good stuff and unlucky. Can’t say I thought there was much good play overall yesterday apart from summers goal but each to their own

Trying to keep the confidence up of the guys who are fit is what I read into it.
