  1. Between the 2 games against rovers and the ayr game last week we dont really look better at scoring than the last time we were in the championship. I've not been impressed with O'halloren since he came in and Jakubiak looked lively but seems like a one trick pony so far. Once the rovers defence sussed him that was that. We really need to solve this goal scoring dillema. Either our midfield need to step up or our strikers need to start banging them in.

It wasnt a bad performance. More frustrating we cant score

Must have been about 300/400 empty seats in the NW yesterday. Strange given it’s sold out pretty much.

Folk have bought cheap kids season tickets and are picking and choosing their games. While the walkups cant get in. Expect it to be half empty allot this season except for big games.

Fair enough on the NW stuff. Does the money all go to the club or back into tifos etc?

  3. If anyone still has the idea in their head that football isn't corrupt at times they need their head examined.

No free kick for wiping out mcginn, it was  obstruction at least, if not a direct fk and a booking. Dykes gets booked when he's fouled. Robertson also wiped out, from behind this time, and he's injured. Foul given against hickey at the start of the second half for **** all. Laporte should have been off, someone kicked hickey while on the ground. Not stopping for a headknock to mcgregor. Changing the reason for the goal being disallowed theres others in there I havnt even typed.

Apart from the pars going to ibrox thats the worst and most blatant I have seen it. The refs employers got the outcome they wanted. I dont even blame the Spanish

Fair comment but I was really talking about the whole squad and the first team not just the bench. The bench is short and that is agreed. As an aside , who would you buy to strengthen the squad and how would you do it?

I dont think its fair to ask a punter to name players without being the manager/scout/boardmember who is much closer to the detail of scouting/budget and availablity of players and who's job it is to put together the best squad possible. However looking at our rivals in the league(and assuming we have bigger budgets than most of them due to income/crowds). I would have taken from rovers alone murray(better than all our CBs) ,byrne(better than chalmers and Etto),hamilton(a better option for an additional forward) and smith(a good impact player from the bench rather than what we already have).

I would have also kept Todorov, McGowan and it seem  Witherspoon is choosing to be unemployed than take the deal being offered. Thats 3 weeks wages he has chosen not to take on the basis he isnt happy with the offer by the sounds of it.

I think we have better quality this season just not the quantity.

All the players named are better than our bench yesterday from what I have seen

    5 Chris Hamilton
    16 Ben Summers
    18 Paul Allan
    19 Miller Fenton
    26 Taylor Sutherland
    28 Andrew Tod
    44 Max Little (GK)

The only change to the starting 11 is the goalkeeper(due to injury) and O'halloren.

We 100% have worse quality along with quantity in the squad. Hopefully the guys on the bench prove me wrong.

  6.

Thats us 3 league games and the group stage of the league cup down we look well short. Looking at the bench yesterday the only "senior" player is Hamilton who is effectively a defensive midfielder.

So far we have let go McDonald, O Hara, Todorov, Mochrie and Mahon to be replaced by Summers on a loan deal and O Halloran.

Being pomoted and not improving the pool while other teams seem to have done is bizarre. I have been hesitant to be critial in the hope we were just waiting for the right players but I cant see 3/4 signings coming in this week.

This is what I said when his name was first mentioned when he left Hearts. From the jambos I know, he was a less than inspiring team mate, talking down to young players, falling out with people etc. Not the type of player we need in our close team.

I heard the opposite from Jambos when speaking to them and it was others in the dressing room undermining Neilson.

  8. Similar to what Al K has seen people seem to be  saying they oversold the football part of it. Im not sure if people at the club should have really been pushing it if it wasnt really centred around the football..folk have got the wrong end of the stick of what it was about and went along thinking it was a play about the pars and thr events of that season. Given what happened that season they could have easily done a play about the pars and less about family issues so I can understand why there has been confusion.

Im going to it on saturday, hopefully it will be an entertaining play but i'm going into it on the basis its not really about football.

    400K would cover our losses

Im not so sure about that going by looking at similar sized clubs that have been relegated and people in and around the club.

I suppose we will find out when the accounts covering the period come out especially as we are midway through the season and its still on balance where we finish and crowd sizes etc

  10. I'm still not convinced 30% is the figure even if it is in the record(they pull things from FB and forums etc). Hopefully it is.

I would rather lowball than highball anyway so until confirmed im treating it as 20%. That is 400k which wont cover our losses for being relegated unfortunatly but its still a welcome bonus.

  11. Doubt I will make the game so will probably watch on the tv. Tbh I would be a bit annoyed if we lost a key player to injury in this game (such as bene or wighton) but I think Mcpake will go full strength. I also think we wte struggling for cbs as it is

Hope you enjoy it. If there are any games anyone would like covered I'll do my best to find a suitable guest!

Semi final up in Inverness? Can have the back story of the lead up with the run and the game at hampden. Can obviously then talk about the final.

Dunno if we want to cover the European games🙈.

Assume you have a record of this conversation or are we supposed to take this “I totally called this years ago” claim at face value?

You can ask the person I had the convo with. You know them.

Btw it was the other person that called it rather than me.

  14. https://theathletic.com/3926702/2022/11/23/denmark-uefa-fifa-withdraw/

Seems Denmark may be leading the way on this but theres been rumours for a number of years the Nordic and home nation countries havn't been happy with Fifa and may withdraw. I remember disucussing it over a beer with a mate roughly 6 or 7 years ago and it was those countries we mentioned. I also suspect the USA might be one who would think about it.

Tbh, could it really happen that the football federations are split up? We obviously have the court case on Uefa and the super league coming up who are challenging if Uefa should have a monopoly on all European football. Going by european free market rules they might win on that case.
