You have to take into account the opposition. A better performance but not sure if that will be enough against the teams we have to face over the next month or so?

Totally agree. Saturday was the chance to get a win and some confidence, Inverness game a week tomorrow looks huge considering how close we are with them in the table

  2. How’s it up to someone on a forum to decide who the manager should be? That’s why we employee and pay good money for people like cook to make these decisions. That being said, the current owners have made 1/3 good management appointments so wouldn’t hold breath on them getting it right

I appreciate the effort they're putting in but that was a really terrible game to watch. So many bad passes I lost count. We may have played better but Arbroath were awful. We're not getting clear of this battle at the bottom now. It's going to be like this until the end of the season. Grim

Can’t disagree with this. If we can’t beat an absolute shocking side in Arbroath, then I’ve no idea where the next wins coming from

Leishman was great for the Pars, first time around, but let's not get too carried away by the return of the Messiah. Sure enough, in his first game back, we beat Dundee 5-0. I was at the game. We went in 4-0 up at halftime in what was a fairly even 45 mins. Dundee created some very good chances, thanks to some rampaging runs and inviting crosses by Caballero on the left wing, but contrived to miss them all.

No such luck for Dundee. They had Soapy Soutar in goal. (The soap was on his palms) To say he had a nightmare is a gross understatement. He was in tears during the interval. He did better in the 2nd half but the baw was burst by then. We also did well in the next game, carving out a gritty 1-0 win at Tannadice. Maybe we should draw a veil over our last game of the season at Rugby Park - 0-4 going on 0-8. Killie took their foot off the gas in the 2nd half or we might still have gone down on GD,

Leish stayed on as manager at the start of the following season, but quickly realised that his passionate pre match talks about playing for the jersey fell on stony ground with that squad. Before long, he was helping the Board to appoint his successor..... A certain Mr Stephen Kenny.

Kind of missing the point, another poster said it’s too late to change manager at this stage of a season, was just giving an example of one who had so little time yet worked wonders

At this stage of the season what earthly use is there in changing the management? That’s dotnet bollocks. Desperately hoping for a squeaky bum 1-0 win for the Pars.

Like what was the point all those years ago when leishman came in for just 3 games? Or do we just accept our fate ffs

Overall our recruitment hasn't been too bad at all. We've a decent enough bunch of players. If we hadn't any injuries we wouldn't be in this situation.

Past 2 transfer windows have been poor. Tbf the 3 in fisher, KRH and otoo were good. The rest have been poor signings imo

Disagree he’s stuck in his ways. What with the injuries and the lack of signings of experienced players he has to try to cement a gameplan with what he’s got. If he had the luxury of a large squad that he could chop and change it might be a different story. On current evidence though - unless something remarkable happens - we’re knackered and I’m afraid League 1 beckons. And I don’t think changing systems would make any difference. McPake may have made some mistakes but I believe his heart is in the right place. He must though be tearing his hair out at the hand he’s been dealt, both by lack of investment and the injuries situation.

8 goals shipped at home in 2 games and he isn’t set in his ways? It’s clear as anything the formation doesn’t work and he isn’t willing to change it. Last season he changed formation quite a bit so credit due there. Injuries is a excuse wearing thin, just had a full transfer window in which we had no game for 3 weeks and didn’t improve the team

When you have a midfield that includes both Chalmers and Allan you are asking for trouble. I made a point of watching Allan for 5 minutes yesterday and I hate saying it but he contributed next to nothing. At one point he came short to take a ball from Benjamin. No-one near him but just passed straight back to him. Neither of them joins the "press" our strikers attempt so 2 or 3 simple passes and Queens were in our half. Pathetic.

Both nowhere near good enough at this level. Still got chalmers for another year too

  9. How can the management team have watched us ship 8 goals in 2 games at home and still not change the formation?? What will it take for him to get away from this 5 at the back pish! Clearly doesn’t work and to me the players have stopped playing for him, either that or they just clearly aren’t good enough

Can't have been too strong then eh?

I've criticised the club in the past, I'll criticise the club in the future. I won't criticise them for not wanting another club to use there training ground as a first team stadium.

What would Dunfermline have gotten out of this?

So why bother even mentioning rosyth in the plans in the first place?
