  1. Just to add, I have emailed the club as promised. No reply yet, but I can wait. There is a fans communication session this Thursday organised through SLO Drew Main, so that's a positive. Those fans invited represent supporters buses, Pars websites, various associated and affiliated fan groups etc. Myself and Digs should be in attendance, so there will be feedback on this site.
  2. I really do wonder about the strategy for our club and I'm worried about it. The reported losses for last season, the lack of clarity on those losses and how did we actually manage to make a trading loss of over a £1 million last season? (I'm no accountant but that worries me). Throw in the (rumoured) projected losses for this season and that's 3 consecutive seasons the club will have returned a loss (this worries me after previous boards financial prudence). If we get relegated again then we're up to our necks in manure. Then what?, how long before Fussball GmbH get tired of the situation? As far as it's been rumoured they haven't converted their loans to shares so where's the demonstration of commitment? If they walk away, we are in dire straits. Fans of the club need to have transparency, it should be a given after all the sh**e we went through back in 2012/13.
  3. Kane may just be the difference for us today. We always create some level of chances, scoring is obviously our biggest issue.
  4. I think the club has bigger concerns than this initiative, which I personally don't have an issue with.
  5. You'll drink anywhere, let's be honest 😃
  6. As Digs points out, O'Connels will be a shambles with potential trouble. Better over the road in the Penny. Decent boozer
  7. I like big Deniz. Few howlers this season but let's be fair and include the rest of our defence at times.
  8. Fantastic initiative 👏 Everybody round about us were getting right into it.
  9. Lewis McCann jumps too early, jumps too late, has a heid like a 10 bob bit. Honestly do not know how he is first pick most weeks. He's not a natural footballer. Very frustrating.
  10. Fantastic group and probably underestimated in the good that they do.
  11. We've got enough to win this game. It won't be easy and we need to be at our best, but I'm going 2-1.
  12. I'm happy to report back anything of relevance to the site.
  13. Maybe it isn't helping but maybe there is legitimate reasons for concerns. I aim to email the club this week with some questions.
  14. I think we can stay up, Tuesday and next Saturday are huge games given how tight this league actually is. I want McPake to succeed and if he keeps us up then we're not shelling out cash again to terminate his contract and look for another manager. Must have cost us fair bit to get rid of Grant and Hughes, can be doing without that stuff.
  15. I think there's more to all this and that meeting wasn't just a moaning session. One of the things worrying me is the longer term commitment of Fussball Gmbh contingent. If their business model isn't sustainable they just walk. Then who takes over?
  16. I heard that Cook was present at the game but hadn't watched it from the main stand. Maybe just ill and keeping himself apart. Our former GM has a former players event today. That's why he'd have been there I suspect.
  17. Were Meggle and Cook both there for the match?
  18. Anybody on here sit in the main stand?
  19. Also looking forward to it. COYP
  20. Gordon Rowan providing the tunes. Superb. COYP
  21. Beaten That is all.
  22. If they're willing to absorb losses in pursuit of their ambitions for the club then fair enough. I'm sure their aspirations are honourable enough, however it's a helluva hit and I'd suggest not sustainable for a club like ours and that is my real problem with this news. If we take another similar hit for this season it's really concerning for me. We've come off the back of the previous Board needing to manage things prudently to ensure we stabilise the club to then running into a situation of 2 consecutive seasons with considerable losses. If we can't get it right on the park and run into a period of deterioration then how long will the Board hang around for?, I really can't begin to answer that, only they will know. I'm not naturally negative in outlook and I try to remain reasonable, fair and pragmatic in life but given what we all endured just over 10 year ago it's surely at least understandable for Pars fans to be concerned. I know that the club get wind of posts like this and they're either uncomfortable with contesting views or wishing folk like me would just shut up, but I won't. Or maybe they don't pay any attention, which is their perogative.
  23. True. Let other big clubs pay the development costs and we can pick them up and hopefully sell them on. Obviously intentional on our part. I'm not against our own academy by the way. It's development a huge cost and on completion very expensive to run. Having just come up from the 3rd tier of our game it's maybe an ambition too far at this stage. But it's the Board baw.
