Vinnie
As it stands we have a maximum speed limit, but we don't have a minimum speed limit for motorway driving. With the exception of road work areas, there should be a minimum of 55mph, for all vehicles. Having had the experience of being part of a small convoy last weekend, where one elderly driver struggled to maintain 70mph, I continually found myself travelling at 50mph, perhaps even at 45 on occasion whilst others whizzed by. I felt I was putting others in danger by not meeting the conditions of the type of road, the weather and the like....Discuss

Mr Mac
As I understand it you can already be done for traveling too slowly on the motorway: it can be classed as dangerous driving.
moviescot
You can actually be prosecuted on any road for driving too slowly. However, since it is a judgment call it is very difficult to get a prosecution. Whats speed is too slow for a 70/60/40 or 30mph n everyone's opinion and does it depend on the driving conditions/traffic?
Lawman
I thought there was a minimum speed ont motorways? Is it no 40/50?
IpswichPar
No minimum for motorway, it''s subjective assessment of causing danger to other road users.Minimum speed signs do exist though, blue circle and white writing I think.
