Killer Robots and other Sci Fi Creations

It would seem that the made up future of The Terminator movie was perhaps closer to reality than they could have imagined at the time.  Killer Robots could soon become a reality.

Technology has come on leaps and bounds since the 1980s, got me thinking to what other movies or TV shows gave what are now reasonably realistic visions of modern or future life?

I can think of Back to the Future 2 with the Jaws 3D hologram effects from a cinema trailer - we now have 3D movies in the cinema.

Any others?

Metropolis (1927), where Rotwang the mad scientist makes a human like robot.

Maybe more appropriate for killer robots would be Short Circuit (1986) where a military robot becomes self aware.

I think Short Circuit is a better comparision, though the image used by the BBC suggesting Terminator-like creations was a bit misleading - no doubt deliberately so as click bait.  I do think that this is a step towards Terminator-like creations though.
