Club auctioning Ukraine / DAFC shirt

Dunfermline Athletic will be showing their support for Ukraine by wearing the country’s blue and yellow colours in a special warm up t-shirt ahead of Friday night`s televised match against Greenock Morton.

The Pars have teamed up with current kit partner Joma to create special edition warm up t-shirts to raise awareness of the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine after the recent invasion by Russia. The thoughts of everyone at the club are with the people of Ukraine during these exceptionally challenging times.

Following the match our community arm - The Pars Foundation - will be auctioning off these limited edition shirts, with every penny going to the Disasters Emergency Committee, Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

Further details on how to bid will be provided in due course.

There are a lot of problems in the uk, but we can all go to bed tonight pretty confident nobody will drop bombs on our houses.  That’s pretty important.

As for local community, did we not do a food bank drive this season? Eddie Martin is also doing good work supporting the wider community in mental health in various forms.

That's a great initiative from the Pars.

Secure Par, that's an angry rant - which you're entitled to - but you may want to re-evaluate when you read it back. Parsforlife sums things up very well, just below your post. The problems in the UK are real and successive Governments have failed to address them adequately, but that doesn't mean we should look the other way at the horror unfolding on the people of Ukraine and the consequent suffering they are going through.

No food, no water, no home, no electricity, no heating, no sleep, family members killed and living in constant fear of the next missile attack. In 2022.

It is a brilliant initiative, I dont agree with Secure Pars opinion but I understand it.

There is massive hypocrisy and double standards that we almost feel compelled to support the Ukrainian yet we we forget terrible humanitarian  injustices in Palestine, Yemen, poor human rights in Saudi and China etc. There is a saying that charity begins at home and there are lots of things I don't like in how the Government conducts itself, but if we disagree and don't like something at least we can live in a democracy and vote them out.

The shirt wont fit, but I'll put in a bid.

Just watched tonights heartbreaking news special from Ukraine - the scenes from the childrens hospital on the outskirts of Mariopol were grim in the extreme. They need our help there more than ever - this shirt initiative is a much needed gesture among thousands of others.

Anyone grudging this type of help needs to have a good hard look at themself…….

Good to see these are finally available - from Cows:

To raise funds for the Disasters Emergency Committee, Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, DAFC is auctioning off the warm up tops worn by the players at the recent match against Morton.

The Club has teamed up with kit supplier Joma and the Pars Foundation to raise funds to help those affected by the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

There are 20 tops available in the auction with the remaining 3 available in a raffle to give everyone the chance to purchase one. The tops are squad numbered and signed by the player, with the top bid getting first choice on which player’s top they want.

There is a minimum bid of £25, with bids being made by emailing matthew@dafc.co.uk with the email subject ‘Ukraine Appeal Shirt Auction’. The auction will close on Tuesday 19th April at 5pm.

The raffle tickets will then be available to buy for the remaining 3 tops.
