Agree with this - and that's one reason I'd like to see Kyle MacDonald getting more game time, especially in Thomas's absence. The lad was going well early on this season and his crossing (at least at the time) seemed excellent.

I don't think it does say it all. What if Hughes is just picking the wrong players? Certainly feels that way at times, Saturday being a striking example.

To be fair, they only found out today about the change to the rules from Monday onwards, until that was announced, planning for 500 was the best they could do.

Could we not move the Pars game to Monday night? Maybe offer Accies a cut of the gate if they agree?

That's the right question IMO. My worry (just speculation) is that Hughes may have made up his mind about them and is determined to stick with his own ways. I think it's telling that we only made one sub today, even when getting horsed there's no particular effort at changing it. I don't believe that all those players who are being left out are all simultaneously performing too poorly in training to get a start. Same for Gasputis. I had serious doubts about Hughes from the start and there's been very little to change my mind. Realistically though, he's going to be here at least until at least summer, and I think he needs to change his approach, starting with picking a team of our best players.

I don't think we have the financial heft to get things over the line quickly. A lot of players will want to keep their options open, possibly even use interest from one club to increase the offer from another. We have at least got a couple in already, and hopefully a few more soon.
