  1. A bid of £60 has been received from bamba-daft on dafc.net, so this is now the price to beat.
  2. I'm very pleased with the new website, it's a huge improvement on what went before. Sanguine Par obviously knows a lot about design etc and it would be great if a way could be found for the club to tap into his expertise - along with that of other Pars fans with similar skills.
  3. Good start, thanks. But it will be a real bargain if that's the winning bid! :)
  4. This week`s DADSC auction is a a relatively rare DAFC shirt - see pics. It's the commemorative poppy-red shirt that DAFC players wore against Ayr United and Alloa Athletic in Aug/Sep 2018. The design commemorates the exploits of Davie Hunter VC and his platoon (“The Seven Heroes of Moeuvres”) during the Great War and the full story is on the DAFC website HERE. The shirt is not framed – it is labelled as “Large” but is probably somewhere between “Large and “Medium”. It was one of the spare shirts produced for the club, so it is un-numbered and hasn't been worn by a player or anyone else (you could have your own details printed on the back). It’s possible that its rarity value could push the price up – we certainly hope so. Bids can be placed on this thread or by private message to myself. Bidding closes at 7pm on Sunday 4 June. There is a reserve price of £50 and bids must be in whole pounds. All money received will go to the DADSC fund for improving access to the 1st Floor function suites at EEP for those with mobility problems. The shirt is being advertised elsewhere and I will try to update all threads as to the leading bid, but don`t rely on that - get your best offer in early to stand the best chance of success.
  5. Coming from the West of Scotland I have absolutely no sympathy at all for this idea. There are long-standing historical divisions on religious grounds between Airdrie and Coatbridge which used to translate into political affiliations and worse. To further highlight these by having an avowedly Irish-named football club playing in Coatbridge is a dog-whistle for the bigots and hard-of-thinking on both sides to cause trouble. I feel sorry for the decent fans of Albion Rovers being tarnished with this.
  6. This quarter, DADSC received £176 and £137 as a result of Pars fans (and others) buying goods online through the Amazon Smile and Easyfundraising portals. This cost the buyers nothing! Sadly, Amazon has now ceased its Smile operation, but you can still buy goods from Amazon via the Easyfundraising portal and contribute to DADSC that way. This is the easiest and cheapest way to donate to DADSC (or any other good cause, if you prefer) - it really does cost you nothing. Please consider it - sign up HERE
  7. If only every football match was like that ...
  8. Delighted to report that £228 was donated to DADSC today by the generous folk of Dunfermline. Thanks to Asda for allowing the collection and to Josephine Chesby, David Henderson, Eddie Martin, Dave Nugent & John Simpson for rattling the buckets and distributing flyers.
  9. Some of us will be rattling buckets on behalf of DADSC today (11 -3) at Asda St Leonard`s. If you`re visiting the store, please stop to have a chat. (And even if you don`t carry much cash to donate, we`ll have a card reader ...)
  10. Last call for nominations in this £5,000 special draw! There are 10 awards of £5,000 being given away and the winning charities will be announced on Friday 26 May.If you haven’t nominated DADSC yet, you still have time. Fill in the form on this link - it will only take a minute.https://tinyurl.com/m9vp7f2mThe nominations window closes at midnight tonight (Friday 19 May) so please do it now to get DADSC in the running - the more nominations we have, the greater the chance of winning.
  11. Many thanks to all of you who have nominated DADSC, let's hope we're successful - results are due in a couple of weeks. There's still time for you to nominate DADSC and your vote will be taken into account.
  12. Over the years, Pars fans have consistently shown their generosity to DADSC (and other good causes). Thank you. This time we are only asking for a minute of your time! An organisation called "Movement for Good" (part of the Benefact Group) is holding special draws this week (Mon-Fri) in which ten charities will each be awarded £5000 - the more nominations a charity receives, the greater the chance of success. Obviously we would like DADSC to be one of the winners! (This is not a scam, last year DADSC received £2000 from one of these draws.)Just go to this link and scroll down for the nomination form (it`s already filled in for DADSC), add your name etc and click the box to nominate DADSC. Please do it now! https://health.movementforgood.com/index.php?cn=SC048550&ct=health&i=1684181716-77897.jpg&utm_source=holiday+card&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=M4G2023card&utm_id=M4G2023card

  17. Fancy taking in a German football game next season? Take part in this DADSC auction! DADSC’s friends Superally and Deutsch Par are donating match tickets as follows:Two tickets for a home game involving Hannover 96, Eintracht Braunschweig or Wolfsburg (men), excluding Category A games.ORFour tickets for a home game involving Wolfsburg women’s team. The face value of the tickets is likely to be between £30 and £40.The choice of match(es) is up to the winner of the auction – Give Deutsch Par a couple of weeks notice, he will buy the tickets requested and send them to the winner as a PDF.Flights and accommodation are NOT included, but a match ticket includes public transport before and after the match - particularly useful in Braunschweig and Hannover where the grounds aren`t in the centre of town.Bids can be placed on this thread or by private message to myself and bidding closes at 8pm on Sunday 14 May. There is a reserve price of £15 and bids must be in whole pounds. (The auction is being advertised elsewhere and I will try to update all threads as to the leading bid, but don`t rely on that - get your best offer in early to stand the best chance of success.)All money received will go to the DADSC fund for improving access to the 1st Floor function suites at EEP for those with mobility problems.
  18. The shirt has been won by an anonymous bidder, with an outstanding offer of £100, after a see-saw battle with one other anonymous bidder. Many thanks.
  19. Top bid by email is now £95, with half an hour to go ...
  20. The bidding war is hotting up, with an email bid of £90 received! Auction closes at 5pm.
  21. The auction closes at 5pm today, so if you're planning a late bid please make sure it's in by that time. Note that bids have also been submitted via other media - I'll try to keep everyone updated, but if there's a late flurry this will be impossible. (You could try submitting your best offer early, to knock out other contenders and avoid losing out in a last-minute bidding war.) ATM £85 is the figure to beat.
  22. Pleased to say that a rival bidder has now offered £85 by email! :)
  23. An offer of £75 has been received by email. Many thanks to the bidder. Auction closes at 5pm on Wednesday.
