I believe today is the final deadline day of the season with the ability to bring in loans from the top league in this country. From memory we have been after an experienced centre half for weeks and at the time of signing Kane we still wanted another striker?

I guess the defender hinges on when Bene, Breen and Fisher are due back. It’s all been quiet on that front but I’m sure Fisher was 4-6 weeks and that was stated 4 weeks ago.  Also MFW seems to get better by the week just now.

As for a striker that would be good especially if McCanns injury is more than just fatigue.

Mind you I genuinely can’t think of many players available!

Hopefully we can get another striker in this week. News in Kane isn’t too bad or McCann for that matter.

Interestingly 3 of Morton’s next 4 games are against United, Raith and Patrick as well as a cup game with Hearts. If they are still well clear in 4th in a month then fair play but there is an opportunity for a number of teams to catch them in the next month or so. The Pars have as much chance as anybody.

I thought we merited the win. Maybe if the Thistle goal had stood to make it 2-2 it would have been a different outcome but when have we had any luck recently?

Thought the first ‘offside’ goal was indeed offside and also Robinson should have been sent off. So the ref wasn’t as biased to us as the BBC tried to make out.

Highlight of the night was Benjamins goal celebration - love seeing a reaction like that!!

We actually have a load of options off the bench for the first time in forever!

Who is going to play on the right of the defence??

I think Hamilton has to play in the middle of a back 3 tonight. No way could we have MFW and Benjamin playing together.

Can he play centre half?

Getting Kane in is great but same midfield and defensive options. Desperately needed a defender in this week to help at the back and get Hamilton or Otoo into midfield.

Surely not? He’s been starting for Dundee recently.

That said I’d be delighted with that. 

Seen a lot of comments about needing midfielders. I’d prefer capable centre half’s that would free up Otoo and Hamilton to play in the middle.

If we can get the “2 experienced players” in this week and start getting a few players back then it’s not all doom and gloom.

We need to get Otoo and Hamilton back into the middle to give us a bit of fight and presence that might allow the likes of Moffat and Summers to create.

Blame sits with the Board and the lack of investment in signings. Not just this window either but this window has been shambolic.

We could actually do with some comms from the owner’s or Cook. Similar to the ones Ross used to put out every few months or so. Just giving and update on the various things going on around the Club.

Yip, I’m loath to criticise the manager and players. Blame for me sits with the one dimensional recruitment model.

I’d also rather get Fenton and Sutherland minutes rather than these recent loans. Couldn’t be much worse than today.

Manager hasn’t been backed in the last few transfer windows. This recent one has been the worst.

I wonder how high up his list of targets Holmes, Benjamin and MFW were…….

Never heard that before.

Knocked back for Eammon Brophy twice. Certainly ambitious and shows we must have a few quid available.

That’s the big thing for me. We’ve barely had any attacking options on the bench all season.

I would add I’d still be looking for another couple of players in as well.
